The True Heiress's Return

Chapter 346

On the screen, the last known location of Xanthe's phone quickly appeared-it was on the street where they had parted ways yesterday. Shakira's expression suddenly darkened. Something ust have happened to Xanthe.. Shakira thought, 'Who could it be? Yvette, Berry, or...?' She had strong feeling that it was connected to herself, and Xanthe had been drawn into it innocently.

Suddenly, the phone she was gripping rang, showing an unknown number. Shakira answered without hesitation.

The voice on the other end immediately started yelling angrily.

"You heartless snake. You did it on purpose? You drove Yvette into a corner, made her lose face in front of the whole department, and now the entire Lopez Group is mocking her. How is she supposed to go to work?" shouted Mrs. Nelson. Listening to the cruel scolding, the hope that had just risen in Shakira's heart fell to the bottom. Her face was calm, showing no emotion. "Yvette brought this on herself. Mrs. Nelson, stop trying to pin it on others," said Shakira.

"You call me a good-for-nothing. What about the person who gave birth to me?" With that, she ended the call without a second thought and blocked the number with a single tap.

Rebecca was stunned by Shakira's retort. Coming back to her senses, she was incredibly angry and filled with rage as she tried to call back, only to find it couldn't be reached.

Rebecca was shaking with anger. "How can there be such a troublesome child in this world."

"Mom..." As soon as Yvette reached the office, she was bombarded with endless mockery and ridicule.

Angry and hurt, she rushed back home, with her face streaked with tears. She sobbed softly. "It's not Shakira's fault. It's all on me. If I had been more careful, I wouldn't have made such a mistake." "Nobody's perfect; everyone makes mistakes. It's the jerk who lied to you that's to blame. You're so innocent in this.

"Besides, Shakira and Sean have been working together for a while now. Why didn't 'Warmth' release a statement sooner? They called for a live competition just to embarrass you and drag your name through the mud." Rebecca was so furious that her chest was heaving with anger. Seeing Yvette looking so pitiful and wronged made her heart ache.Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

She gritted her teeth in frustration. "I can't believe the Lopez Group's employees have such poor character to attack you over this. A company like that isn't worth your time."

"No, Mom. I have to earn those internship credits, or I won't graduate." Yvette turned away, tears streaming down as she tried to hold them back by tilting her head upward.

But the sound of her sniffles betrayed her hidden frustration. "Life has its setbacks; it's no big deal. I'll take my time to heal," said Yvette.

Rebecca reached out to hug Yvette, offering comfort. "You're a Nelson heiress and the CEO of Rippling Heart. Those workers will always look up to you and have no right to belittle you."

"I'll find a way. We can't just let this go," said Rebecca. Yvette started crying even more. "Mom..."

In a corner where Rebecca couldn't see, Yvette's eyes were dry, but they shone with a cold light.

Over here, Shakira blocked Rebecca and went to the study room to search the street surveillance on the computer to find Xanthe.

Sat, Dec

About ten minutes later, Shakira successfully lacked into the official security network of Crescentville and found the street cameras. She saw Xanthe getting into a black car, which then drove around town.

The driver was skilled, knowing how to avoid the surveillance in the city by taking detours. Identifying the final location of the car via numerous cameras was a time-consuming task.

Right then, Sean called again. This time, his tone was serious. "Shakira, I found her phone location. It's on the road where we split up.

Shakira stared intently. "Yes, I'm already checking the street cameras. The person is clearly experienced and is not easy to find."

Sean said urgently, "Shakira, let me do it. I'll personally watch the cameras and bring her back." His final words were spoken with emphasis.

If it wasn't for his impulsiveness and if he had safely taken Xanthe home, this wouldn't have happened.

Shakira understood Sean's intention. Meanwhile, messages from Maris and Benton-kept popping up on her phone, asking. when she'd arrive at the office for the meeting.

I crack it. Let me know of any updates.",

Walter had an early meeting, so he went to the office early, leaving Shakira to travel by herself. She was deep in thought. "Shakira. Finally, you're here." Benton was already waiting at the department entrance, stretching his neck. "The audit team is in the conference room. As long as they agree, this deal is secured."

After thinking for a couple of seconds, Shakira said, "Okay, I'll send you the lice

Shakira nodded. "Got it. I'll just wash my face and head into the meeting room."

"Alright." Shakira headed to the restroom to ask Sean about the situation.

Sean quickly replied, "Damn. The driver is definitely a repeat offender. He switched cars halfway. I've got the entire IT team searching."

Shakira's eyes darkened. "I'm going into the meeting. Inform me if there's

any news."

"I know. You take care of your things first." Shakira set Sean's messages to send special alerts, then placed her phone on the sink and took a deep breath.

She leaned over and splashed cold water on her face, hoping it would help clear her mind.

When she looked up, through the blurry water droplets, Shakira saw a woman quietly appearing behind her.

Fiona looked exhausted, like a ghost. Even with makeup, she couldn't hide her worn-out appearance. In her hand was Shakira's phone, and her eyes in the mirror's reflection were filled with a chilling madness.

Without a second thought, Shakira asked, "You're the one who took Xanthe."

As soon as she finished speaking, she quickly grabbed Fiona by the neck and pushed her against the wall.

With a thud, Fiona's back ached from the impact.

But Fiona seemed to feel no pain and her expression twisted into a crazed smile. "Haha. So what if it's me? Come on, if you've got the guts, strangle me. Come on."

Her laughter grew even more hysterical, continually provoking Shakira.

Shakira tightened her grip on her wrist. "Don't think I won't do something to you-"

"Shakira, if you're brave enough, kill me. Otherwise, your close friend will spend her life as nothing but a man's toy," said

Fiona

Shakira gave Fiona a hard slap, wearing a detached smile.

But deep in her eyes was a chilling coldness that sent shivers down Fiona's spine. "If you dare to harm her, I'll make you wish you were dead."
