The True Heiress's Return

Chapter 345

Seeing Xanthis' wild and arrogant smile, Berry trembled more violently, unsure if it was out of disgust or fear.

Just thinking about how she was manipulated by this disgusting rk for three years, a wave of nausea rose in her chest. She turned and bent over to retch.

Watching her reaction, Xanthis' smile twitched, making him look even more sinister and cruel. "You think me disgusting?

"Alright. No matter how I tried to reach you, you shun me. If I hadn't happened to see that video of you being kicked out online, I wouldn't have even known how to find you."

"Xanthis." Berry couldn't hold back her tears. "Let me go. I have no money. I've given you all my savings. You know that nobody in my family cares about me, otherwise, I wouldn't have gone with you in the first place. Please, let me go."

"How could I?" Xanthis squatted down, somewhat disgusted by Berry, who had vomited. He lifted her chin with a finger and his eyes gleamed. "You look better off. All your clothes are designer brands, and that bag yesterday must have cost quite a lot." Berry lowered her head in guilt. "I borrowed those from a friend."

"Wow, you've got some really powerful friends now." Xanthis sneered, stating plainly. "Since you can get advantages from your friends, you should also be able to help me live well. I'm not asking for much. Covering my expenses is enough." "If you're out of money, I'll go find someone from the White family. The new head of the White family is quite well-known; surely he can't ignore his future son-in-law, right?" said Xanthis.

Berry looked up in disbelief. "Despicable." She felt like a helpless creature trapped by a demon, unable to struggle free and forced to endure the humiliation.

It was like this three years ago, and now she still couldn't escape. Berry thought, 'Why? I just want a good life; why is it so hard?'

Berry felt completely hopeless as Xanthis busily examined the valuables he had just confiscated from her, figuring out how many days they would last him.

Suddenly, bright lights lit up the entire abandoned building. "Move everything inside. Quick, don't wake anyone up."

A series of hurried footsteps echoed as Xanthis pulled Berry to hide behind a pillar. About five or six men in black clothes appeared, each looking tough and muscular.

The men placed something heavily on the floor upstairs, whispered among themselves, and then came down again. "Neville Potter, since things are going so smoothly, how about grabbing a midnight snack?"

"Getting cocky, are you? Do you have a death wish?" Neville gave the younger guy a smack on the back of his head.

"No that. This place is deserted. With that much dosage, she'll be out cold for hours. With her mouth gagged and her hands and feet tied, where could she possibly go?"

"Yeah, Neville. Why don't we stop along the way to get some overnight gear? This place is filthy; we should at least set up tents and sleeping bags."

Neville thought for a moment, looked around the empty building, and said, "Get back in two hours." The "Sure."

group cheered.

The gang walked

away arm in arm, and soon there was the sound of cars driving off. Berry and Xanthis stepped out of the corner, easily guessing what they had been up to.

Berry felt a chill run down ber spine. "Let's leave now." Xanthis' ves gleamed as he looked up at the building. "What's the rush? This is our chance to make some money."

Berry was amazed. "What-what are you going to do?" Xanthis didn't answer with words but with actions.

Watching Xanthis head upstairs where the men had tossed something without hesitation, Berry was covered in goosebumps. She wanted to scream to stop him and run away, but Xanthis turned back, giving her a piercing look. "Come on." Berry could only follow in a daze. In the middle of the empty floor lay a person with a covered face. Berry hid behind Xanthis, a tingling sensation running through her scalp.

But when Xanthis casually removed the mask to show the person's face, Berry almost let out a scream-Xanthe. Berry thought, "The person they kidnapped is Xanthe

The initial look of fear on Berry's face slowly turned into a mischievous grin. "Seems like we've got ourselves a rich one," said Xanthis.

Xanthis looked Xanthe up and down thoroughly, then glanced back at Berry's crazed reaction, finding it amusing. "Do you know her?"

"More than just know her," said Berry. Xanthe and Shakira were the ones who messed up her life. Karma was truly fair. Now it was Xanthe's turn to face the consequences.

Berry stared hard at the unconscious Xanthe and said to Xanthis, "Weren't you after money? Well, it's just walked in." Xanthis smirked and started laughing too.

The next morning, Shakira had just woken up when she got a late-night text from Enrique, asking if Xanthe had stayed over at her place. Finding it strange, Shakira called Sean right away.

Sean yawned and said, "Shakira, it's so early." Shakira immediately questioned him. "Did you make sure Xanthe got home safely last night?"Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Sean stopped mid-yawn, caught off guard by the tone in Shakira's voice. Instead of answering, he asked, "Xanthe didn't make it home?"

Alright, that meant she wasn't dropped off. Shakira briefly explained the situation, hung up, and replied to Enrique's

message.

Not knowing what had happened, Shakira first reassured Enrique with a white lie. Then she called Xanthe and also messaged Rachel and Larry, but didn't get any useful information. Shakira became more convinced something wasn't right. She opened her laptop to trace Xanthe's phone location.
