The Mafia Bride (Katrina and Silas)

Chapter 41

Katrina's POV

I couldn't believe what I had just heard, he was doing it again. Disregarding what I wanted just for his selfish gains.

He didn't care about his actions as long as it brought him benefits. That was the type of person Marcos was.

Silas glared at Marcos, his eyes blazing with fury.

"What do you mean?" His voice was a low, dangerous growl.

Does this have something to do with what had happened in the past between them?

I stood there confused and uncertain, my heart pounding in my chest.

I could have sworn people could hear how loud my heart was beating from a mile away.

The tension in the room was suffocating.

My father was about to use me as a pawn again and the realization made my skin crawl with irritation.

"You're going to use me for your games?" I snapped at Marcos, my frustration rising

I have never used such a tone on Marcos, but there was always a first time for everything.

I was certain that it had something to do with Silas being behind me.

"Do you have a problem with being with Silas? Marcos asked, his eyes falling on me.

He held me in a dark glare, daring me without speaking any words and I knew this was the part I was supposed to keep. quiet.

But I wouldn't

"Silas is my uncle and twice my age, I gritted out forcefully.

Marcos smirked, unfazed.

"You didn't seem to have a problem with it before,"

And he was right.

Those times I kissed him when I let him touch me.

I didn't have a problem with Silas.

But right now it was different hearing such a thing from my father.

I opened my mouth to retort but before I could, Silas spoke again, his voice filled with venom.

"Just because you're offering her up doesn't mean I've forgiven you for killing my wife and child," Hroze.

My heart skipped a beat as I processed his words. His wife and child?

I never thought about it before, but hearing Silas say....

Thu, Nov 21 E

I didn't know what to feel.

I turned to Silas, my mind racing. I had known there was history between him and Marcos, but this? My father had killed his sister?

I couldn't comprehend it. My father had always been a ruthless man, but killing his sister?

That was a whole different story. He always talked about how he loved his sister and how he missed her.

And I'm finding out that he had killed her and her daughter.

I wonder just how Silas must have felt when that happened.

The shock was too much, and at that moment, I saw Marcos for what he truly was a heartless monster.

Anything I had once felt for him evaporated, leaving only hatred in its place.

This only proves that Marcos didn't value relationships and would do anything to get his way.

"Miriam had betrayed me, Silas. You knew it had to be done."

Did she betray him? I don't know the story, but I'm certain that was a lic

"She betrayed you? Are you forgetting what happened then, or do you need me to remind you? You framed us and then planned an accident to wipe out my family and me, Silas gritted out, and 1 turned to Marcos This was all too much for me to handle.

Marcos had framed Silas and then attempted to kill him?

Was that why he thought that Silas was dead all this while!

How did Silas survive?

A million questions ran through my head, and I was unable to answer any

Silas's eyes were still locked on Marcos, his expression dark. It seemed as if it took everything in him to control himself.

"You're going to pay for everything you've done," he growled, his voice low.

Silas was always convinced that Marcos loved me, I guess it was obvious now that he didn't.

Then, without another word, he grabbed my arm and began pulling me out of the room.

I held Marcos's gaze as Silas dragged me away, but my father's expression remained cold and indifferent.

As if none of this mattered to him. And maybe it didn't

He had given me an order, and he expected me to carry it out. I was supposed to steal something from Silas' office and bring it to him.

I already told him that wouldn't be possible but yet he thinks I would.

Marcos didn't know I was married to Silas and that made it even better.

If he knew I didn't know what he would do

I turned my attention to Silas who was walking right beside me. He hadn't said anything since we left the room and I left it Chapter 41Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

that way.

Turning my attention away from him. I remained quiet as we made our way to the elevator

I could feel the tension all around us but I couldn't bring myself to break the tension.

I didn't know what would happen if I did.

Silas seemed upset, his fingers clenched by his sides. I could finally understand what had happened between Father and Silas, and I understood his hatred for Marcos. Though I didn't know the whole story, I was certain I would hate Marcos more if I did.

Did he kill them cleaning? Or did Silas have to hold the bloodied bodies of his wife and child?

I couldn't help but wonder what he had gone throughs, but I couldn't dwell on it for long.

The night was over and I had the sinking feeling that things hadn't gone the way Silas had planned.

And that was obviously because of me.

If I hadn't followed Matthew. If I hadn't thought about escaping.

All this wouldn't have happened.

I stayed quiet as we stepped into the elevator, the sound of the party happening downstairs the only sound around us.

Silas stood rigid, his face unreadable, and I wondered what he was thinking.

Was he angry with me? Disappointed?

I disobeyed him, so he should be.

So why hasn't he said anything yet?

The elevator doors opened and we walked toward the parking lot.

1 struggled to keep up with his strides, rushing after him.

I climbed into the car without a word, still thinking about everything that had happened.

Silas handed me a bottle of water as he settled right next to me.

Oh, I was feeling thirsty

It seemed that he still cared about me even though it was a little bit.

Relieved, I cracked open the bottle and took a long gulp.

"How'd you know I was thirsty?" I asked, grateful for the small gesture.

But Silas didn't answer.

He remained silent, staring straight ahead as I drank the water.

Suddenly, I felt dizzy, and my vision blurred. I immediately held the door beside me, trying to stop myself from falling What was happening?

My heart raced as I realized something was wrong.

Why do I feel like this?

"Silas, I don't feel too good," I mumbled weakly, the bottle falling from my grasp to the floor.

I glanced at Silas in panic but his face was cold and emotionless

The last thing I saw before everything went black was his blank eyes, staring straight ahead at me.

That was when the realization hit me more than anything.

Oh shit, Silas had drugged me.

And then the darkness welcomed me
