Chapter 38 Will you marry me (2)

I opened my eyes slowly, turned my face to look at him, "So what?"

"Nance, do you think it's fun to play with the feelings of the men?" Vince questioned.

"I'm not playing with anyone's feelings." I pursed my lips and say flatly.

"Then are you serious about our relationship?" Vince gripped my shoulders and looked at me.

I looked up to meet Vince's eyes. His pupils were so clear.

"Of course I take it seriously." I smiled. "If you marry me, I'll do as you say and I won't play with anyone's emotions."

I didn't know why I said something crazy. I knew Vince and Qi Ouyang were about to get engaged, but I still asked him to marry me. It was probably because I wanted to get back at Qi Ouyang, or maybe it was because of my love for Vince.

I looked at Vince's surprised face, smiled, turned my back on him and said, "I'm kidding. You don't have to take my words seriously."

I didn't even ask him to marry me when I was pregnant with his child. And now I had nothing and even my pride had been be trampled upon. Now I was in no position to ask him to marry me.

"Fine, I'll marry you." Vince replied firmly, and I stared at him in shock.

"What did he just say? Am I hallucinating? Vince wants to marry me? Is he doing this out of pity or love for me?" I thought a lot.

"What did you just say?" I asked him.

"I'll marry you." he said again. "I'll meet you at the Civil Affairs Bureau at ten on Monday." As soon as he finished, Vince turned around and left. What was he doing asking me out today? Did I just mess up his plans with my joke? Well, I had to admit that my joke messed up my plans completely.

Why did I force him to marry me? Was I ready to marry Vince?

No, I wasn't prepared for that at all. I couldn't imagine what kind of disaster marrying Vince would bring to my family. I didn't even know why Vince wanted to marry me.

I even didn't know how I got home. All I could think about was what Vince said about marrying me.

When mom came up and gave me a push and I came to myself.

"What's wrong?" mom asked.

"Nothing." I said. I couldn't tell mom about my meeting with Vince. She definitely didn't allow me to marry Vince after she was threatened by Qi Ouyang. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

I went back to my room and took my residence booklet out of my suitcase. Having been married and divorced before, I was familiar with the marriage process.

Was Vince really going to marry me?

Was he joking, or ..... I doubted my life right now. Usually a divorced woman would be very cautious about a second marriage. However, I didn't even think twice about letting Vince marry me.

Why would I say something like that? I guessed Vince must have laughed at me a thousand times in his heart. I can't believe I was preparing the papers needed to get married.

I had insomnia, tossing and turning for two nights.

On Monday morning, I had

breakfast, walked into my room in a

trance.looked at the clock and

found it was 8:30 am. "Do I have to

go to the Civil Office Bureau I

asked to myself.

If I went and Vince didn't, I would be embarrassed. But if I didn't go and Vince did, would he get the wrong idea that I was playing with his emotions? "What the hell am I doing?" I pulled at my hair and said to myself.

I stood up and looked at my face in the mirror. "It's just marriage, isn't it? I can't be afraid." I comforted myself.

Afterwards, I got dressed, took my papers, and opened the door. I saw that mom was feeding dad, and then I snuck out of the room gently.

By the time I took a taxi to the Civil Affairs Bureau, it was 9:30 am.

There were a lot of people coming to the Civil Affairs Bureau to register their marriages and there was a queue, so I sat in the waiting area. Time passed little by little. Waiting for people with anticipation is always long and difficult.

I looked at the time displayed on my

phone. It was ten o'clock and It was

about to be my turn, yet Vince

wasn't here yet. I changed the order with the people behind me and continued to wait. Content belongs

Soon it would be my turn again. I stood up and looked out the door. I realized that Vince was definitely not coming. Only I came over hopefully to wait for him.

I loved him, so I waited patiently for him at the Civil Affairs Bureau, and I understood why he didn't come.

After all, my encounter with him was supposed to be a deal. Now that the deal was over, I was the only one still in the deal and was unwilling to face the reality.
