Connor returned to the office and soon received the necklace. He called Camila into his office, wrapped his arms around her, and placed the necklace in her palm.
Camila stared at the cold necklace in her hand, surprised. "The One?" she exclaimed.Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
"Yeah," Connor said slowly. "I always thought Haylie was lying, claiming she saved me. So, I've felt guilty and grateful toward her all these years, mistaking that for affection. I took back this necklace that upset you; do whatever you want with it." "Looking at it makes me queasy," Camila said, placing the necklace on the desk and pouting slightly.
"What do you want to do with it?" Connor asked.
"Can we return it?" Camila blinked and asked.
Connor paused for a moment, then chuckled softly. "We'd have to ask Logan about that."
After a moment, he continued, "There's something else I need to tell you. I previously gave her twenty million."
Camila's eyes widened. "Twenty million?"
"Yeah, I caused her leg injury; consider it compensation," Connor explained.
Camila glanced at him, slightly upset that he was spending money on another woman, and muttered, "It's your money; give it to whoever you want, I can't control that."
Connor playfully touched her nose and smiled. "You do control it, everything, even my life."
Camila pouted, swinging her legs lightly.
"Twenty million was for her leg. As of today, she's blacklisted in the entertainment industry. That's the price she pays for deceiving me."
Camila paused, a bit shocked. That was Connor, always settling scores.
"If I ever deceive you, will I end up just as miserable?" she asked.
Connor raised an eyebrow, thought seriously for a moment, and whispered, "I couldn't bear it; you'll always be the exception."
Camila snorted, "You're just sweet-talking me."
Connor made a swearing gesture and said, "I'm not, it's heartfelt. I'd never lie to you."
Unable to stop herself, Camila smiled and grabbed his swearing hand. "Better call Mr. Logan now."
Eventually, under Connor's relentless
pressure, Logan agreed to take the necklace back. After receiving the necklace, Logan felt it was too unlucky for him, having caused him to get punched and kneel on durian shells without making a profit. So, he dismantled the diamonds from the necklace, and thus, The One was no

"A recast? Impossible! I, Haylie, will not be recast!" Haylie shook her head in disbelief, staring at her agent Rosie. "The contract is already signed!"
"The production company hasn't
given any reason, and the TV show
you were filming has also been put
on hold," Rosie said with a furrowed brow. "Not only that, but even though your endorsements haven't been terminated, all your advertisements have been pulled."
"All of them?" Haylie turned pale.
Rosie asked, "Who did you offend?"
Connor's cold, brooding face came to Haylie's mind.
She shook her head. "Impossible! He just owns a public company; he doesn't have the clout to reach into the entertainment world! Besides, I endorse luxury brands! He doesn't have that power!"
"Who are you talking about? Who
exactly did you offend? It looks like
there's no way to turn this situation around," Rosie was desperate, having begged everyone and still unable to find out who had
love
blacklisted Haylie.
Haylie said, "Connor."
Rosie was surprised. "The tech company CEO?"
Haylie gritted her teeth. "Yes."
Rosie said, "It can't be him. Think harder about who you might have offended."
