A One Night Stand With My Boss

Chapter 391

Haylie lounged on the sofa, sipping her coffee, her eyes drifting towards the man standing by the window. A faint, mocking smile played on her lips. "Why are you still bothering with me?" Connor turned around, his dark eyes narrowing slightly, a storm brewing within them. "Talk."

Haylie felt a chill run down her spine under his intense gaze. After a moment of silence, a hint of hurt flickered across her face as she replied innocently, "Talk about what?"

Connor raised an eyebrow, his eyes scrutinizing her, radiating a dangerous aura. Haylie sat up straighter, his deep voice ringing in her ears. "Tell me how you deceived me about saving my life."

Her pupils dilated slightly. She whispered, "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Still not talking?" Connor moved closer, towering over her, a flash of disdain and contempt in his eyes.

Haylie met his gaze, a cold sensation creeping up her legs. She tried to mask the panic within, and after a few seconds, she chuckled derisively, "What? Pretending you don't know me now? Refusing to admit that I saved your life?" "Enough with the act," Connor scoffed, his stare piercing and cold, sending shivers down her spine. "Talk!"

Haylie trembled, swallowing hard, her voice shaky as she slowly began, "Yes."Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

She recalled the car accident seven years ago. Thrown onto the beach, she was lucky to have landed on soft sand under the protection of her helmet, suffering only minor scrapes. However, her leg had struck a large rock. As she regained her senses and removed her helmet to look around, she saw Connor lying not far away in the sea. Despite the pain in her foot, she struggled to her feet to help him.

But the sandy beach was difficult to navigate. With every step, the sharp pain in her ankle spread. Realizing the severity of her injury, a wave of resentment surged within her. She glared at Connor, turned around, and slowly dragged herself towards the highway.

With few cars passing by, she waved for help, but no vehicle stopped. After what felt like ages, she heard the sound of an ambulance. A flicker of hope ignited in her heart, and sure enough, the ambulance was heading her way. She used all her strength to frantically wave, and finally, the ambulance stopped in front of her.

"Please, help me! I've been in an accident!" she pleaded.

"We're on a call to rescue someone ahead," the medic said, glancing at the blood streaming down her ankle. "Get in for some basic first aid, and after we rescue the person, you can go to the hospital with us."

"Okay, okay." Haylie nodded vigorously. However, she didn't expect that the ambulance was actually dispatched to rescue Connor. Thus, in the ambulance, she and the unconscious Connor met.

"But what does it matter! It wasn't me who called the ambulance! The fact that you ruined my chance to ever perform on stage again is undeniable! You owe me!" Her voice grew sharp and hysterical as she stood up and screamed at Connor. Connor's gaze turned even colder, cutting through Haylie like thousands of knives. "The 20 million I gave you can be considered compensation for your leg. I want 'The One' returned by today. I don't want to see you again."

Haylie's lips trembled slightly, her teeth clenched. After a moment of silence, she stormed out, slamming the door behind her. Later, Connor left the club, instructing Young, "Blacklist Haylie."

Young nodded in agreement.
