Chapter 30 Playing with Thrills
“I want to talk to you,” Liora Valentine said confidently.
Elijah glanced at her and asked, “Need money again? How much this time?”
“I’m not here to ask for money. I’m pregnant, with your child.” She handed him Freya’s ultrasound report but with her name on it.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
Liora did it for Elijah to see, not to confirm if the baby was his or not.
Elijah didn’t take it from her but looked at it briefly. The timing matched up, but he wasn’t going to believe it easily.
“I know you won’t believe me,” Liora said confidently as she handed him a cell sample that she had kept in the refrigerator after doing an amniocentesis herself. “You can test this embryo cell that I took out during the procedure.”
Elijah’s expression finally changed as he looked at Liora intently.
“I don’t know why you suddenly became so cold towards me, but I wouldn’t dare lie about something like this!” She spoke earnestly and convincingly.
Xander stepped forward and took everything from her hands.
“If you don’t want it, I’ll still give birth.” With that said, Liora turned around and walked away intentionally saying so because she believed Elijah would never abandon his child.
Xander whispered softly, “Is this believable?”
Elijah remained calm and distant as he replied, “Call Orion.”
Whether true or false; he wanted a test done first.
Xander explained everything clearly before they arrived together at the hospital since such tests required equipment only available there. Elijah sat in the waiting room completely immersed in darkness while Xander waited outside for news of any kind from Orion Russo who was conducting their test in another room nearby.
After more than half an hour passed by; Orion Russo came out holding a report.
“Whose is this?” Orion asked Xander.
“Liora Valentine’s.” Answered Xander.
“She had relations with Elijah?” knowing full well how different Elijah felt about Liora compared to others, Orion asked. But he wasn’t very clear about what was going on here.
Xander nodded.
Orion was also speechless.
“Okay.” He handed the thing to Xander, “Looks like we all have to congratulate him.”
Xander hurriedly looked at the identification results and couldn’t help but cursed, “Fuck!”
“What’s wrong? Is Elijah unhappy?” Orion didn’t understand Xander’s attitude.
Xander whispered, “I think he has feelings for Freya Stone. And now that Liora Valentine is pregnant, what is he going to do?”
Orion knew that Freya Stone was also pregnant with another man’s child and said, “It’s not hard to solve. Just get a divorce.”
Actually, he wanted to say, “Do it now! Immediately!”
So Elijah wouldn’t find out that Freya had cheated on him. But then again, he had also cheated on her.
They were even.
Xander looked at Orion and thought to himself, “It’s not as easy as you make it sound.”
He pushed open the door with the test results in his hand. The room was dark and dimly lit. Xander walked over slowly and whispered, “The results are in.”
Elijah heard everything they said outside but didn’t ask any questions. He just said calmly, “I know.”
Xander wanted to ask what they should do next but Elijah stood up at that moment. The door opened and Elijah walked out followed by Xander holding the test results carefully in his hand. Orion chimed in with one more comment before following them out, “You can’t just abandon your child. You might as well get a divorce from Freya Stone.”
Elijah turned around sharply and gave him a sharp look saying, “Are you meddling too much?”
Orion shut up.
On the way back home, Xander didn’t dare say anything either; there was an oppressive atmosphere throughout the entire car ride. When they got home Elijah went upstairs and asked casually, “Has she gone to bed yet?”
Linda replied softly, “Madam hasn’t come back yet.”
Elijah paused for a moment looking at his watch realizing it was almost nine o’clock already; she should have been off work by now. So where did she go?
This woman never knew how to behave herself. She always found ways of getting under his skin.
Suddenly, Elijah turned around angrily taking big strides towards the door ready to go find her himself…
Freya took a taxi back after work only for the driver take her somewhere else instead of home – Ronan Vega arranged this all along.
She found herself tied up on Ronan Vega’s bed in his private residence.
Ronan Vega sat beside her sipping red wine from his glass and watching her intently.
“Let’s see how you’re going escape this time.”
He laughed mockingly while Freya glared at him.
“This is kidnapping! It’s illegal!”
Ronan Vega chuckled,”I know, you forgot one charge though.”
Before Freya could react, he continued, “Like, rape?”
Freya trembled with fear. This was the first time Ronan Vega had seen fear on Freya’s face. He bent down and said, “So you’re afraid too. I thought you were fearless.”
“Meeting someone like you, wouldn’t anyone be afraid?” Freya stared at him with caution, fearing he might make any other move.
Ronan Vega saw her thoughts and smiled, “You are just meat on the chopping board and can only be slaughtered by me, you know? You ran away from me three times, and it was only three times. I will never let it happen this time. You won’t have another chance to escape from me!”
He put down his wine glass and stood up from the chair.
Ronan Vega was tall and slender, but not weak. He took off his casual suit jacket, revealing a white T-shirt underneath. As he was about to take off the T-shirt too, Freya became truly panicked but had to maintain her composure.
“I belong to Elijah. Please release me quickly.”
She had no choice but to move in with Elijah Silverton.
Ronan Vega sneered, “Sure enough, Elijah is also interested in you. He lied to me and said he wouldn’t like a woman like you.”
Freya was taken aback, Elijah didn’t like women like her?
She didn’t know why, but she felt a little disappointed in her heart.
But it was only a fleeting moment. Sure, a woman like her was really not worth liking.
“I can let you go, but not now,” he smiled. “It’s no use for you to threaten me with Elijah. Don’t forget, it was him who gave you to me in the first place. I’m just making up for lost time, so I’m not afraid of he causing trouble for me.”
Freya bit her lip, despair evident in her eyes. How could she forget that this man would become entangled with her, all because of Elijah!
She dared not move violently. The result of today’s examination showed that she had signs of a miscarriage and needed to rest well, otherwise she might really have a miscarriage.
With no hope from Elijah, she had to figure out a solution on her own. Freya forced herself to calm down.
“I know I can’t run away, but can you loosen the rope for me?” asked she.
Ronan Vega flatly refused, “Never.”
This woman was too cunning, he would not give her freedom.
Freya continued, “Do you find it interesting to tie me up?”
Ronan Vega raised an eyebrow, “So if I let go of you, will you be good?”
“Yes, loosen the rope and I will be good.” Freya smiled at him, “You are not ugly anyway, and I am not an innocent girl myself.”
Ronan frowned. “You…”
“I’ve been with men before,” she said deliberately, hoping to make him judge her for it.
But this time, Ronan Vega was smarter and didn’t care. “It’s okay, I don’t mind.”
Freya hesitated.
Ronan Vega leaned in and began unbuttoning her clothes. Freya trembled all over.
“Wait…”
“What’s wrong? Are you scared?” Ronan laughed.
Freya shook her head. “No, I have some enhancers in my bag. If we’re going to play, let’s make it more exciting.”
