Chapter 947
"Not everything..."
Frank let out a barely audible sigh, his expression calm and collected. "Just three, I guess. My grandma, my ex-girlfriend, and you." Becky White paused, his ex-girlfriend?
Of course, she knew Caroline. Her reputation preceded her; they had met and interacted before.
He was straightforward and honest, at least.
But placing her in the same category as his grandma and Caroline—what did that imply?
Or was he hinting at something?
For a moment, silence fell between them, the air growing thick with tension.
Becky found herself feeling unusually warm.
Suddenly, her phone rang.
"Sorry."
She flashed him an apologetic smile and quickly answered. "Hello, Mr. Cooper, yes... alright, I understand... Okay, goodbye."
Though Frank couldn't catch the details, he had a good guess.
Frowning slightly, he asked, "Trouble with the divorce?"
"No..."Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Becky hung up, shaking her head. "Not trouble, just a procedural thing."
"Right." Frank nodded, a small smile forming on his lips. "That's good then."
Good for what?
It was her divorce. Why should it matter to him?
Seeing him look relieved, Becky felt her cheeks warm up even more, if that was possible.
The next day at noon, Becky took her lunch break to meet with Nanson.
Nanson was in the area for some errands, so Becky suggested they grab a bite together.
Partly to discuss business, and partly to thank him for his help.
After their meal, they left the restaurant together.
"Mr. Cooper, thanks for helping me out," Becky said with a smile.
"No worries." Nanson chuckled. "You've thanked me all lunch. I've got to run, but we'll talk later."
"Sure, take care."
Becky watched Nanson drive off before heading back to the office.
Behind her, Caroline, sitting in a wheelchair pushed by her caregiver, emerged alongside Darlene Bryant.
Watching Becky's retreating figure, Caroline's brow furrowed, her expression complex.
During lunch, Caroline and Darlene had been at a nearby table, unnoticed by Becky.
Caroline had seen Becky but wasn't spotted in return.
And what had she overheard?
Caroline glanced at Darlene, seeking confirmation. "Did you hear

Darlene nodded emphatically. "Loud and clear. No mistake!"
Caroline smirked, a dark amusement in her eyes. "Interesting, very interesting."
She clenched her fists, then instructed her caregiver, "Let's go to Johnson Group!" Turning to Darlene, she added, "You're coming with me."
"Of course!"
Immediately, Caroline and her entourage hurried towards the Johnson Group.
At this time, Frank was just finishing up a meeting and taking a break.
He hadn't expected Caroline to show up suddenly.
"Caroline, what brings you here?"
"Not happy to see me?" Caroline smiled thinly.
"That's not what I meant." Frank frowned slightly. "You know I'm not great with words."
He truly wasn't unwelcoming.
