Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change?

Chapter 935

Last night, there was no late movie showing, so Sherilyn headed back to her hotel, noticing Karol's door was ajar with her luggage parked right outside.

Sherilyn's room was right across, and as she unlocked her door, Karol emerged.

"Sherilyn!"

Sherilyn halted in her tracks, turning around to see Karol with eyes red and swollen, furrowing her brows in concern.

After a moment's hesitation, she asked, "What's up?"

"I have something to ask you!" Karol's usual feigned affection was absent, which Sherilyn found surprisingly relieving.

"Shoot."

"Did you ask Mr. Harrison to kick me out?" Karol glared at her, her gaze filled with anger as if looking at an arch-enemy.

Sherilyn couldn't help but smirk, shaking her head, "Nope."

"Don't deny it!"

But Karol wasn't having any of it, "It was you! Just because you knew about me and him, you had me removed? Sherilyn, don't you think you're being a bit too controlling? It's not like you're his girlfriend, why can't I be with him?"

"Go for it. No issue there."novelbin

Sherilyn's patience was wearing thin.

"I'll say it again, your being kicked out has nothing to do with me! If you've got a problem, go talk to Gilbert! Aren't you two close? Shouldn't be hard."

"!!"

That hit a nerve!

Gilbert had promised to make her a star!

But now, he had backed out!

Clearly, it was because of a fight he had with Sherilyn, and he took his anger out on her, swiftly removing her from the cast!

Karol bit her lip in frustration, her face turning shades of anger as she stared at Sherilyn.

"Huh, funny."

Karol managed a bitter laugh.

"Feeling smug, are we? But what do you have to be smug about? Yes, he likes you! But still, behind your back, he slept with me!"

"

Sherilyn frowned, cutting her off, "Whatever happened between you two, it's none of my business. No need to discuss it with me." With that, she turned to leave.

"Sherilyn!"

But Karol called out to her again.

"Do you even like him? Do you really like him?"

Sherilyn paused, offering a faint smile as she shook her head, "After all this, you're concerned about that?"

Was she the only one who found Gilbert 'dirty'?

"Why won't you answer? You're afraid to admit it!"

Karol scoffed, "Because you don't really like him! I've known you for so long, he's been nothing but good to you! But you? You've always been so indifferent! That's not how you treat someone you truly like!"

"Think what you want."

Sherilyn couldn't be bothered to explain, "Can I go now?"

"You..."

Karol clenched her fists, her eyes betraying a hidden ferocity, "You

clearly don't like him! Yet you

I can't

stand others liking him! Why are you

so selfish?"

What? Sherilyn was taken aback. It seemed Gilbert's admirers weren't that great after all.

Shaking her head, she turned and walked into her room, closing the door behind her.

...

This morning, Sunhaven woke up to a gloomy sky.

By ten o'clock, it hadn't brightened, and finally, a persistent rain began to fall.

A light drizzle that lasted all day.

At the Johnson Mansion, with the

lights on and the sound of rain tapping gently against the window, James-puffed his cheeks, reciting today's lesson in a childishly sweet voice.
