Chapter 930
She was still scared of him.
After all, he was the kind of guy who could have her marched down to the precinct with just a word!
Gilbert's brows twitched slightly, his gaze casually sweeping over Charles.
Charles got the hint, nodding before he turned to her. "Last night, during your break, you were spotted on the floor where Mr. Nine was staying. The cameras caught you lingering there for twenty minutes. What were you up to?"
Her heart skipped a beat, realizing they had checked up on her!
"You were smart to avoid the hallway cameras, but the elevator cameras caught you clear as day!"
Charles's tone dropped ominously. "Spill it! What were you doing there?"
She gasped, her face draining of color, though her lips remained defiantly sealed.
"What I do in my own time is none of your business. It's personal."
"Is that so?"
Charles scoffed coldly. "Mr. Nine's room was burglarized, and we have every reason to suspect you were behind it! Working here at the hotel makes it all too easy for you, doesn't it?"
"It wasn't me!"
She immediately protested, "I didn't do it! Don't pin this on me!"
"We'll let the police decide that!" Charles gestured, signaling the security behind him. "Take her to the station!"
"What are you doing?"
The security stepped forward, restraining her.
Panicking, she shook her head with a pale face, "I won't go to the station! I won't go! I didn't steal anything!"
"Then what were you really up to?"
"I..." She bit her lip hard, her face flushing between shades of pale and red.
Her demeanor screamed guilt.
"Not talking?" Charles raised his hand. "Take her away!"novelbin
"No..."
She started to cry out, "I won't go! I won't- Okay, I'll talk!"
She couldn't afford another trip to the station!
Gilbert and Charles exchanged looks.
Charles signaled the security, "Let her go..."
Facing her, he said, "Talk."
With a trembling voice, catching her breath, she confessed, "It wasn't me, it it was Karol... I just took her money to do her bidding..."
She spilled everything.
Charles glanced at Gilbert, whose face had turned stormy.
Gilbert's lips were a thin line, his words forced out tightly, "Bring Karol to me!"

From their distance, it was hard to hear anything, but the trio quickly left the set.
"Sherilyn...," Naomi voiced her confusion, "Did Karol just get kidnapped?"
But then she shook her head, "No, that can't be right. Why didn't she call for help?"
Sherilyn remained silent, her brows furrowing.
Those men in black suits...
They looked awfully familiar. Weren't they, by any chance, the Harrison family's security?
"Naomi."
Sherilyn glanced at Naomi, "When's my next scene?"
"Let me check..." Naomi pulled out her phone to look, "You've got two more scenes before yours."
"Alright."
Sherilyn set down her water glass, "I need to step out for a bit."
"Where are you headed? I'll come with you."
"No need, you stay here. If something comes up, you can reach me."
"Okay, then."
