Noah
An hour ago, Letta was already getting ready. She woke up early, took a shower, and had breakfast, doing it all with a beaming smile. This time, she was incredibly lucky because last night she received news that she would be interviewed for a job at one of the coffee shops she had long coveted. The distance was also not too far from her apartment, making Letta even more excited. However, all her enthusiasm suddenly faded when she opened the apartment door and someone was already in front of her.
“Good morning,” Haris said, making Letta let out a long sigh.
“What again, early in the morning, you’re already in front of someone else’s apartment door?” Letta asked, making Haris glance at the watch on his wrist.
“I’m just carrying out my duties,” Haris replied, reminding Letta of his earlier statement that he had been assigned by Marco to monitor everything Letta did.
“And as you expected, Mr. Won’t accept it just like that. I have positioned two guards below and will follow you wherever you go. I’m just making sure and also delivering this news to you,” Haris said in his flat tone, without expression and without any ups and downs in his voice, making Letta look at him with raised eyebrows.
“If you insist on placing two guards and following me continuously while I’m out there, like the President’s child, what will people think? They won’t believe my appearance like this either. So, I beg you, can your master show a little understanding to me? At least don’t let them both openly follow me. Keep them two meters away, and only if I don’t notice them, then they can follow me wherever I go,” Letta said, making Haris fall silent for a moment.
“Alright, they will watch without you knowing,” Haris said, making Letta nod. After that, she was about to turn around, but once again Haris stopped her.
“What is your schedule for today?” Haris asked, making Letta turn around again.
“It seems you’ve mistaken. I don’t have a detailed schedule like your master. I will do whatever comes to mind at the moment and do it. So, I don’t know what I will do today. It’s better for you to get the report from the two guards you placed. And it seems you’re a busy person too, so you better leave now, and I’ll go about my activities as I please,” Letta said, making Haris fall silent before finally letting Letta go and entering a different elevator from Marco’s subordinate. Letta finally let out all her curses.
Somehow, her days seemed like they would be tougher when meeting Marco, until Letta finally arrived in the apartment lobby. What made Letta furrow her brow was how swiftly Marco’s subordinate worked. When Letta saw Haris already conversing with the two subordinates who seemed to be assigned to guard her, it made Letta indifferent and unbothered. After that, she walked past the three of them, and Letta also noticed Haris immediately instructing them to follow him.
As Letta had requested earlier, the two guards followed Letta without arousing anyone’s suspicion and without making Letta feel burdened. Letta walked along the sidewalk to her workplace, and it took only 15 minutes of walking for her to arrive. Letta took a breath first before exhaling slowly. Somehow, she felt more nervous. Letta finally pulled open the door of the coffee break that still had ‘closed’ written on it before entering.
Letta immediately encountered a man who was cleaning the floor of the coffee break.
“Excuse me, good morning,” Letta greeted, making the man stop his movements and look at Letta with raised eyebrows.
“Good morning,” he replied, still with a perplexed look, making Letta only able to offer her smile.
“This morning, I have an appointment with Mr. Noah for a job interview. Is he available?” Letta asked, making the person finally smile.
“Oh, he’s here. You can go directly to his office, it’s on the second floor, and there’s only one room. Just wait there for a few minutes,” the person said, making Letta finally nod and follow his instructions. Letta immediately walked up the stairs and opened the door, which was the only one on the second floor, which seemed to be Noah’s workspace. Letta waited for a few minutes until finally, the door to the room opened, revealing the man she had previously met.
“Sorry for the wait. Did you wait long?” Noah asked, making Letta stand up immediately, seeing the man walk over and sit in the chair in front of her.
“Are you Mr. Noah?” Letta asked hesitantly, making the man smile broadly. After that, he extended his hand.
“Yes, let me introduce myself, I’m Noah,” the man, who was previously mopping the floor of the coffee break, said, making Letta quickly reach out to shake his hand.
“I’m Letta,” Letta said, making Noah smile.
“Please have a seat,” Noah said, making Letta sit back down.
“I’ve read about your work history. Are you sure you used to be a flight attendant?” Noah asked, making Letta nod her head. Perhaps she didn’t look like a flight attendant, maybe because her appearance was different without the uniform, Letta thought.
“I’m not trying to suspect you or not trust you. It’s just that I’m a little surprised as to why a flight attendant is applying for a job at a coffee shop like this?” Noah asked, seeming not to understand Letta’s thinking, making Letta simply smile in response.
“Actually, I’m tired of flying,” Letta said innocently, making Noah pause for a moment before bursting into laughter.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
“You’re tired of flying?” Noah asked, making Letta nod her head.
“So, now you want to spend your days inhaling the aroma of coffee. What if you get tired of that too? Will you leave this job as well?” Noah asked again, making Letta tilt her head.
“That’s not what I meant. What I meant is that I have certain reasons to leave. So being a flight attendant doesn’t mean I can easily let go of the job I’ve obtained,” Letta said, making Noah laugh again at her response. Letta somehow felt like she looked ridiculous in front of her prospective boss. Did her answer sound that funny to him? However, the first impression Letta could gather from the man in front of her was that first, he liked to laugh, second, he seemed to be able to guess people’s thoughts, and third, maybe he enjoyed mopping the floor, Letta thought, as she looked back at Noah who was examining the documents that had been previously sent to apply for a job at his coffee shop.
