Chapter 166
CHAPTER

I stood in my bathroom after my shower, staring at myself in the mirror.
I don't know what it was, even just looking at my own reflection, I looked different. I felt
different. I was standing there wrapped in a towel, knowing that Noah was in my room waiting for me. A conversation that I wasn't really looking forward to having, but I knew that I had to have it.
I know that I didn't do anything wrong. Walker is my mate as well. And that's something that they had to respect. He knew that I wouldn't be able to stay away from him, but no matter how much I kept telling myself that, I was still worried about this conversation.
I finally mustered the courage to walk out of the bathroom but I froze on the spot when I saw Lucas in my room as well as Noah.
"Lucas." I said, shocked.
"Hi Emma." He said, standing up.
"Your mother helped him when he was found. She said that he was cursed and that's why he
helped kidnap you." Noah explained.
"I know. I could see it on his face and feel it when he was near. I knew that it wasn't actually you." I said. Lucas looked relieved as I said that. "So, you've been helping look for me?" "Yeah. But I wasn't a whole lot of help since I didn't remember anything." He said.
So I walked to my wardrobe and I got dressed into clean fresh clothes and I felt a bit better
after that.
I walked back to my bedroom and I sat on the side of my bed while Noah and Lucas looked like they were getting comfortable. "So, who is he?" Noah asked.
"His name's Walker. His people found me after I escaped from Xavier. He has his own pack in the middle of nowhere." I said.
"So, he's an Alpha?" Lucas asked.
"Yeah."
"There's no packs in that area." Noah said.
"No technically. He's the Alpha of the lost tribe of the Moon Goddess." I said. But Noah's head snapped up and he looked at me with wide eyes and in shock.

"They died out decades ago."
"No. They didn't. They're still out there." I said.
"And you got close to the Alpha?" Lucas asked.
"He's my mate." I said.
Lucas and Noah looked at each other. It was obvious that they weren't expecting that. I wasn't
expecting it either. I thought I only had two. But apparently not.
"I definitely wasn't expecting that." Lucas said.
"I know. Neither was I. I didn't even know the first day that I was there. The wolfsbane was still
in my system. But'l started feeling it as the drugs left my system and he felt the bond as well, obviously."
"You're only 16. How are you able to feel this bond?" Lucas asked.
"It's because I'm a hybrid and a princess. It comes with its own perks. That's how I know that
you two are my mates." I said.
"You two got really close while you were there?" Noah asked.
"Yeah. I guess you could say that."
"Well, why didn't he come back with you?" Lucas asked.
"Because I left in the middle of the night. He was asleep. He couldn't leave his pack and I knew that he couldn't leave them. But I knew that I couldn't stay there. I'm the princess and I had Noah to come back to who was worried sick about me. I had other responsibilities here and I guess I didn't give him a choice. I just left in the middle of the night and came back here.
I explained.
"
"So, you made the choice to leave him?" Lucas smirked. But I wasn't smiling and neither was Noah.
"It was really hard for you to walk away from him, wasn't it?" Lucas asked.
"Yeah. It was." I said, looking down at the ground.
"Thank you for telling us the truth." Noah said.
"Did you really think I would lie about that?"
"1 guess not. I have to think about this for a bit. I'll be outside if you need me." Noah said, leaving.
I was left in the room with Lucas and to say that it was a little uncomfortable would be an

understatement.
"You can ask me anything you want. I know you want to." Lucas said.
"I don't blame you for the kidnapping. I know that you were cursed and I know how powerful magic is. But I need to know if you were serious about being better for me. You were training and trying to be a better mate for me. That's what you claimed, anyway." I said.
"And that hasn't changed. Levi may be an ass, but I'm not. You are my mate and I am serious about you."
"You and Noah seem to be getting along really well."
"He was there when your mother helped me be released from the curse. And we've been helping each other trying to find you. I guess we have become friends in the last couple of days." He said.
"Good. I'm glad to hear it." I said.
"Why don't you tell me about Walker?"
"There's not much to tell. They're a hidden tribe. They don't have enemies. They don't have people trying to attack them. Walker is in the pack the whole day, not having to worry about meaningless jobs with warriors or people lurking around. It's a primitive pack. They're completely self sufficient. It's pretty incredible to see what they can do for themselves. Not
like the rest of us." I said.
"You sound like you liked it there."
"It was peaceful. I helped out with the chores every day. I made a couple of friends."
"Why didn't you come back as soon as you could?"
"I was going to as soon as the wolfsbane wore off. But that's when I realized who Walker was
and I thought I owed it to him to at least get to know him." I explained.
"Well, by the sounds of it I think you got to know him really well." Lucas said.
“Yeah. The men in that pack aren't pigs. They don't have s*x with anyone until they're mated." I said, staring straight at him.
Lucas then looked away at me, knowing that I was having a go at him when I said that.
"So, are you still living in your cousin's house?" I asked.
"Hazel and her parents haven't come back yet. But I'm actually staying here. In the room down
the hall." He said.

"Oh. I wasn't expecting that." I said.All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
"Your mother offered and I accepted. She could see that I was pretty distraught after they told
me what I did." He said.
"I'm glad my mother was there to help you." I said.
"Thanks." He said.
Lucas and I talked for a little while longer before I decided to go downstairs to the kitchen to get something to eat.
I was starving cause I hadn't eaten since I left Walker's pack.
The cook was in there preparing food and he told me that it would be ready shortly. He knew that I would be hungry after the long journey home. He was happy to have me back as well.
So when the food was ready I ate it and I took the dishes to the kitchen and put them in the dishwasher myself.
The kitchen staff was looking at me strangely, but I didn't care.
Lucas waited for me at the door of the kitchen, also watching me with a strange look on his face, but then we headed downstairs to the field.
