The Triplets' Fighter Luna

Chapter 156

I walked around the village and watched how they did things around here and I was actually pretty impressed.

Everyone was looking at me strangely, obviously not sure of what I was going to do. If I was going to hurt them or leave them alone. I also noticed the warriors that were following me from a distance as well.

They wanted to make sure that I didn't hurt anyone, which I didn't blame them. But most importantly, I don't think they wanted me to run off and risk exposing where they live.

I found my way to a river that wasn't too far on the other side of the village.

I knew that Walker was lying when he said that there weren't any towns around here. I knew that there was. It was my job to know. And it wasn't too far away, but it was far enough away that they didn't know the wolf pack was here. "So, do I get to know your names if you're going to be following me around everywhere while I'm here?" I asked the guards.

They didn't answer at first until I turned around to look at them and they realized that I knew they were following me. Even though they were a fair distance back.

They finally walked up closer to me, but they were still looking really cautious.

"I'm Roman and this is Kai." He said.

"Well, it's nice to meet you." I said.

"Are you really the princess?" Kai asked.

"Yep." I said, popping the P.

"Why did those men kidnap you? What do they want?"

"I'm not sure why one of them wants me. It could be to blackmail my parents. The other one was my mate.'

"You said that you had to call your mate." Roman said.

"I'm the princess and my mother has three mates. I have to call my mate who wasn't involved in kidnapping me." I said.

"Why would he betray his mate like that?"

"Because he was cursed. Or spelled or something. I don't know. When I looked into his face, it

wasn't him." I explained.

"I guess that makes sense, after what we saw you do." Kai said.

"I know that my mother pissed off some witches before I was born. But she hasn't had any problems with them since then. I guess we let our guard down too much." I said.

"Do you think you can get him back?" Roman asked.

"I hope so. I know that he wouldn't want to live his life like this. So, if I can't get him back then

I know what he would want me to do." I said, staring into the water.

"You'd kill him instead of letting him live like this." Roman said.

"Yeah." I said.

"I told you to watch her. Not become friends." Walker said from behind us. So Roman and Kai both took massive steps back away from me.

"Wow. You really know how to kill the mood, don't you?" I asked.

"What's your last name? No one knows the last name of the royal family." Walker said.

"That's because they had to take on the royal family's last name when my mother took over the throne. It's Alfred." I said.

"So, when you actually mate and mark with your mates, they have to take your last name?" He asked.

"Yeah. Pretty much." I said. So he nodded his head.

He walked closer to me and stood next to me, also looking into the river.

"I come here all the time too." He said.

"It's peaceful. Not that the village isn't. But there's something about a flowing river like this

that's just special." I said.

"I come here when I need to think."

"I'm guessing that you came here for a different reason today."

"I don't want you to think that I don't respect the crown. We always have. And we used to serve the crown. Our ancestors did. But once the council came in then everything changed." He said.

"It's all changed back now. The council is still there, but it is monitored by my mother and she hand picked the members to be on it. And they aren't allowed to make any massive decisions without her." I explained. "Wow. I never thought I'd see the day that the council was overthrown." He said.

"I've read the history books. I know what they were like when they first thought it was a good idea to have a council. They threw their weight around and a lot of wolves got hurt. I don't blame your ancestors for disappearing." I said. "Do you think your other mate is going to be alright? Or are you prepared to kill him if you have to?" He asked.

"Honestly, I don't know what I'm prepared to do right now. We are mates but it's been a tough ride with him since the day we met. My other mate Ben, it's been completely different with

him. It was never complicated with him." I explained.

"Well, dinner's ready. Come on." He said.

So we walked back to the village together and everyone was still really hesitant around me.

They had two long tables set up in the middle of the village with long wooden seats on either side of the tables where everyone ate together.

Since everyone was still weary of me, Walker told me to sit with him. But he was right up the

top of one table and I just sat on the other side, facing him.

"So, do you have a Beta?" I asked.

"No. It's just me."

"What about when something happens to you? If you need to leave or anything."

"I never leave. I'm the Alpha and I stay with my pack. I protect them with everything I've got." He said.

"And you haven't found your mate."

"Well, she's definitely not in this pack. And no one knows that we're here." He said.

"You have to pick a chosen mate so you have an heir." I said.

"Yeah. Pretty much." He said. And I nodded.

"Well, that explains all the dirty looks I'm getting right now." I said. So he looked down the

table and saw all the women that were staring at me.

But they quickly looked away when he looked at them.

"I didn't realize until you said something."

"Maybe you should have realized. You're a single Alpha. That's just universal. Every woman

wants to be the Luna of a pack." I said.

"Yeah. I guess so." He said.

As soon as dinner was finished I helped the women clean up and clean the dishes and do the night time chores.

I was getting a lot of weird looks from them all until I told them that I wasn't a spoiled little princess. I wasn't here looking for everyone to wait on me hand and foot.

I know how to pull my own weight.

That's when they finally started lightening up around me, because I didn't give them a choice.

I was going to help them clean up if they wanted me to or not. So they finally started talking to me like I wasn't the enemy.

But I understood where they were coming from. They've never had a visitor here before.

They never meet new people. So, this was weird for them.

I know that I had to take it easy.

I was just glad that they started warming up to me so quickly just because I was helping them clean up.

I got to talking to one woman, Dahlia. She was a bit older than me but she was really mature.

"So, do you have a mate?" I asked.

"No. Not yet. One of the men in the pack has to choose me. It's usually arranged by our parents, but my parents died a little while ago. So, they can't choose for me anymore." She said.

"s**t. I'm sorry. How did they die?" I asked.

"They got the madness of the moon goddess." She said.

"The madness?" I asked.

"Yeah. I don't blame Alpha Walker for what he did. He had to. They tried to kill me and a lot of

other pack members."

I stood there in shock for a moment, trying to think of what this madness could have been.

"Were they fated mates?" I asked.

"No. They chose each other."

"Did they ever meet their fated mates?" I asked.

"They never left the pack so I don't know how they could have." She said.

"Dahlia. Did they only get this madness on the full moon?" I asked.

"How do you know that?" Walker asked, coming up behind us.

"Because that's not madness. They were physically being kept away from their fated mates. But because they were marked by each other, it's possible that they didn't know who their fated mates were." I explained.

"Are you saying that their fated mates are in this pack?" Dahlia asked.

"If they never left the pack and it was happening every full moon, then yeah." I said.

Dahlia turned back to look at Walker and he was looking at me really strangely.

I had a feeling that I might have overstepped. But I think they have a right to know what this moon goddess madness is. I mean, if it happened to her parents then it could happen to more people in the pack if they are being kept away from their fated mates.

I think Walker might just be starting to realize that.
