Chapter 154
EMMA POV
I didn't know how long I was unconscious for, but I woke up in the boot of a car. I could hear
the engine roaring under me and it was pitch dark.
I started trying to kick the boot lid open but the wolfsbane in my system was stopping me from doing that.
I felt us leave the highway and we were traveling along a dirt road so I raised my hands up
that had been tied together and I started hitting the back trail light.
I managed to knock it out of the car and I could see outside.
It was actually starting to get sunlight so we had been driving for most of the night.
Where the hell were they taking me?
I started feeling sick to the stomach from the drugs that they gave me, but I couldn't let that stop me.
The wolfsbane was able to control my wolf, but would it also control my other abilities?
It wasn't too long before the car stopped but I was ready for them.
A couple of car doors opened and then closed and I laid really still in the boot of the car.
I heard the footsteps getting closer and on the dirt with light talking as well.
As soon as the boot opened I saw Xavier and Lucas looking in at me.
"Lucas. What the f**k?" I asked. But he just looked at Xavier without saying anything to me. Lucas!" I yelled.
Xavier looked up and nodded his head.
I saw two larger men walking around behind the car and they reached in and grabbed me
under both of my arms, trying to pull me out of the car.
When they managed to get me on my feet behind the car, I waited until I got my balance when they started walking me past the car.
I looked at both of them out of the corner of my eyes before I deliberately tripped over my own
feet and I fell to the ground, causing them to lose their grip on me.
Xavier started yelling at them so they tried to bend down to grab me again when I rolled over on my back and I raised my hands, that were still tied together, at the men in front of me 1/4

releasing a red energy blast that sent them flying backwards and taking Xavier and Lucas
down with them.
I got to my feet and I saw the lot of them on the ground so I ran off the dirt road towards the forest and I didn't stop.
I was working on my restraints as I was running and pretty soon I was able to use one of my hands to burn through the ropes and I dropped them on the ground and started running even faster.
I knew that I couldn't shift right now, but I've never had a problem with running.
I heard Xavier yelling in the background, which meant I was gaining distance away from them
but he wasn't going to get me that easily.
dodged low hanging branches and jumped over fallen trees, running to the sound of water.
I could hear it up ahead of me so that was the direction that I was heading in.
I was aiming for the water, hoping that I might find some sort of civilization.
I heard someone gaining on me and I turned to see if I could see anyone getting close, but I couldn't see them through the dense forest.
I started to slow down as the wolfsbane was taking an effect on me and I could feel that my lungs were burning as the adrenaline was wearing off.
I turned back around to keep running towards the water when suddenly someone came out from behind a tree.
I wasn't sure how he managed to get in front of me, but when he grabbed me by the arms I knew that it was Lucas.
I looked up at him, straight into his face.
There was something wrong.
He wasn't showing any sort of emotion. He wasn't showing any sympathy. He only had a blank stare on his face.
He was looking at me, but it felt like he was looking straight through me. Like he wasn't even
in there.
I could hear some other people running up behind me so I turned to look.
Lucas never spoke, he never looked away from me, he never moved. But when I turned back to look at him, I knew that it wasn't him. I knew straight away that Xavier had done something to
him.

"I'm really sorry Lucas." I said.
So I slammed my foot down on the ground, making the whole forest shake and he lost his balance slightly as I raised my hand and I hit him with a white energy blast and he flew back against a tree that knocked him unconscious.
I turned back to see those two men running after me, so I had to run past Lucas on the ground and I finally came to a cliff that was off to the side of a waterfall.
That was what I could hear. The waterfall.
There weren't any people here and it was a 30 foot drop to the water below. But I looked back
at the men and then back at the cliff.
I decided to take my chances with the cliff, so I ran the last couple of steps and jumped off the side of the cliff and straight down into the water.
I held my breath for as long as I possibly could as I made it down stream a bit before Inovelbin
surfaced.
I knew that it wasn't going to slow them down for long.
I couldn't even be sure if they followed me over the side of the cliff or not. They could be in the water, right behind me. No matter how freezing the water was.
So I started swimming as fast as I could to get down the stream further, but it wasn't long
before I ran out of steam.
I made it to the bank on the other side of the river and I climbed up and into the trees.
I stood there for a couple of minutes looking at the river to see if I could see anyone swimming down the river after me.
But after a few minutes when I didn't see anyone, I turned around and started running through the forest again.
I ran for as long as I could before I finally started to slow down and started walking through the forest at a pace that I could keep up with.
I was exhausted and the drugs were still in my system. I knew they would be for a couple of days. So I wasn't going to be able to get home until they wore off.
I needed Gemma to help me find my way home from here.
Mainly because I had no idea where here was. And because I was unconscious for so long.
I heard a branch break to the left of me so I stopped and looked around to see what was there.

I know that there are a lot of bears in the area, all around Alaska and Canada, but I wasn't sure if that was a bear.
I waited for a moment but when I didn't hear it again, I kept walking.
Only moments later I heard another branch snap on my right.
Now I knew that there was something watching me in these woods. But looking around, I couldn't even find anything good enough to use as a weapon.
I heard something flying through the air with a lot of wind behind it that made it make a whistling sound, so I crouched to the ground and I raised my hands over my body to create a shield that made the arrow bounce off of it and fall to the ground.
I stayed there for a moment before I stood up and I released the shield.
That was a bad idea.
I was surrounded by people that looked more like cavemen than anything else, and one of them came running up behind me and hit me over the head with a large rock. Knocking me unconscious. Again.
