Her First Assignment
Chapter 38 Her First Assignment
The room was silent as Raven heard the first job Ramos had given her.
“There is a group of stupid fools who thought that they could steal from me and get away with it without leaving a trace that I will find. I want you to find them and kill every last one of them, but bring their boss to me.” Ramos ordered.
“You…. want… me to kill not just one person but all his men and bring their leader to you alive? Ramos, you really are a monster.” Raven said.
“I know, but I don’t care my dear. All you need to do is kill all his men and bring him to me alive. Understand?” He ordered.
Raven knew she didn’t have a choice. She hated his shitty geezer ass. But the thought of taking a human life was something she wasn’t comfortable with.
She didn’t mind killing Ramos if need be to end his wicked reign once and for all, but this was different and she felt strange.
She walked into her room trying to catch her breathe as the news was overwhelming.
She rushed to her bathroom and opened the faucet, splashing water on her face. She took a deep breath, trying to steady her racing heart.
What was she going to do? She had to follow Ramos’s orders, but the thought of killing innocent people made her stomach turn. She couldn’t do it, could she?
She knew she had to think of a way out of this, but what? She was at a loss, and felt completely hopeless.
Then, an idea began to form in her mind. What if she didn’t have to kill anyone? What if she could find another way to get rid of Ramos?
Well, the men Ramos was sending her to kill weren’t exactly innocent, but they sure didn’t deserve such a judgment of death because they stole something from him.
Ramos steals from other mafias so what’s the issue with another stealing from him. The probelem that shitty geezer have is that he doesn’t want anyone taking what already belongs to him.
She decided to take a shower. As they water flowed through her body, she kept imagining the scene of the attack, how would she pull the trigger?
The thought of it made her feel nauseous. Could she really do it? Could she take another person’s life? She wasn’t a murderer, she was just a girl who waited tables, did dishes and work different part time jobs to take care of her father but she not a killer. But Ramos was forcing her into this role, whether she liked it or not using her father as her weakness to control her life. How can she escape this new fate?Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
She got out of the shower and wrapped herself in a towel. She stood in front of the mirror, staring at her reflection. The woman staring back at her looked scared, lost, and uncertain.
That wasn’t the Raven she knew. She was brave, strong, and determined. But the Raven she is looking at right now is afraid for the first time and you know why?
Because she had to kill to save her father. She had to become a monster to save her dear father’s life and she hates it so much. She used her hands to break the mirrior tired of looking at the person she had to become to save her father.
“AAAAHHHHHHH! She screamed as she started to cry.
As she stood there, her body trembling with emotion. She heard a vibration coming from her jean trouser and knew it must be Alfredo calling. She wiped her tears and picked it up.
“Hello… Alfredo.” She said, her voice sounding sad.
“Raven? What’s wrong? Did something happen?” Alfredo asked, concern evident in his voice.
“I don’t …. know…. what… to…do Alfredo…” She stammers as tears came rushing down her face.
“Ramos gave me an assignment to find some people who stole from him and ordered me to kill every last one of them but only keep their boss alive and bring their boss to him.” She explains.
“What?!” Alfredo shouted. “Ramos has gone too far, telling you to kill to become like him so that even if you become free from him, the guilt of you taking lives to save your father would hunt you for the rest of your life.”
“He’s a monster Alfredo and I don’t know if I can do this.” Raven said.
“Has he given you the location of the place of the assignment he’s sending you too?” Alfredo asked.
“No…not yet. Why?” Raven asked.
“To help you. Maybe you don’t have to kill those men.” He said.
“What do you mean? If I don’t do it, he would know and then kill my father. As I see it, I don’t really have a choice in this.” Raven said.
“There’s always a choice, even if it’s not an easy one,” Alfredo said, his voice firm but gentle. “Listen, let’s think this through. I know you don’t want to hurt anyone, and I know you don’t want to become like Ramos.
But we have to figure out a way to get your father out of this situation without you having to do anything you’ll regret.”
“But what if there is no other way?” Raven asked, her voice shaking.
“There’s always another way,” Alfredo said, his eyes filled with determination.
