The Invincible Arthur Gardner

Chapter 12 - The Final Blow

Chapter 12 - The Final Blow

"Hi, you..." Marco said as he walked towards Edna. She slightly backed away as he got closer. "This is

the first time I've ever encountered a woman as stunning as you - may I ask your name?"

"My name is Edna, sir," Edna replied, her grip on Arthur's arm tightening, "and this man here is my

boyfriend. We are deeply in love, and he is planning on buying me the most luxurious car here."

"Do you really think I'm going to buy this nonsense?" Marco said firmly, glancing at Arthur. "Do I look

like I don't know who this guy is? He's nothing but trash that I just kicked to the curb."

"Marco..." Linda hurried to Marco and gently tugged him back. "You can't flirt with other women while

I'm here."

"Linda..." Marco turned to Linda, "I'm teaching this trash a lesson, and do you want this trash to bullshit

in front of us? You know what? He's too stupid to play around in front of us and expect us to believe

him."

Marco spun around to behold Edna, and his attraction to Linda immediately vanished. He was

determined to possess her, and he was ready to do so without delay; he could dominate Arthur and

acquire a new love interest in one swift motion.

"How much did he offer you to do acting, my lady?" Marco asked Edna, his expression one of warmth.

"I'm certain he was merely bragging when he said he could purchase this car - that is quite possibly the

most outrageous boast I've ever heard. You're not gullible enough to fall for it, surely."

"Let me buy this car," Marco said, trying to captivate the woman in front of him, "and show you who is

really rich and deserves your attention. I'm sure you will be amazed by me when you know my wealth."

He truly believed that spending 50 million dollars on her would be a reasonable price for him, much

more appropriate than what he was willing to spend on Linda.

"Marco, are you seriously flirting with other women in front of me? We don't need to prove much in front

of these two idiots, Arthur is clearly eunuch and trash. Let him kill himself after this because he can't

afford the money he spent on buying the clothes he's wearing right now." Linda said.

"Linda," Marco exclaimed, "I'm not flirting with anyone, I'm just being polite. And it's not nice to speak of

her like that; we don't know what her situation is."

"Fine," Linda sighed, "I'm sorry, I just don't like seeing you so friendly with other women, especially in

front of me."

"I understand," Marco replied reassuringly, "You have nothing to worry about."

Arthur, trying to restrain his impatience, wanted to know how far Marco had come this time. He was

determined to give him a lesson that would stay with him forever.

"Mr. Marco," Edna said softly, "why don't you and Mr. Gardner both bid on this car? The one who can

afford to pay the most will be the one who truly demonstrates how wealthy they are."

Edna was certain that money was not of great concern to Mr. Gardner; she could tell he grasped her

point, yet he remained silent. Nevertheless, she knew that as a good assistant, she needed to do

everything possible to protect her boss's reputation.

"Seventy million dollars," Arthur exclaimed, following Edna's suggestion. "I'll buy this car for that

amount!"

"What?" Marco exclaimed incredulously. "You want to buy this car for seventy million dollars? Are you

out of your mind? That's an absurd amount of money - even your life isn't worth that much. Where does

this bravado come from? Do you think anyone will believe you?"

Marco was convinced that he would have a big win today: he would have a love for the gorgeous girl

before him. Just the thought of her name stirred his passions. He was determined to end this

foolishness quickly and obliterate Arthur, so he could reap his reward.

Marco then called the salesperson at the venue.

"Hey you, trash!" he then said to Arthur. "Pay the price you bid earlier, so I know that you mean what

you say."

Arthur immediately paid the 70 million, and soon a success notification was heard from the device held

by James, the sales manager.

"What? Are you in cahoots with this guy? Bullshit!" Marco said, his irritation rising as Arthur actually

paid the seventy million he had mentioned. He was sure Arthur was bluffing and that the money was Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

something he had just borrowed from someone.

"Tsk! Seventy million dollars is a small fortune for me," Marco said with a smile, "I'll buy this car for

eighty million dollars."

Marco looked at Edna, then proceeded to pay the money.

Arthur exclaimed, "One hundred million dollars!" He then proceeded to bid on the car, quickly

completing the payment for the full amount.

Marco trembled even more when he heard the number that Arthur was bidding on; it was a sum that

was incredibly disturbing to him. A hundred million dollars was no small amount for Marco, even though

it was within his grasp.

But a brilliant thought suddenly came to him, and he was confident it would make Arthur regret his

decision for the rest of his life and maybe even kill himself in the same place.

"What bullshit!" he exclaimed. "Now, I'll implement a new rule: no refunds for whoever loses."

"Oh, are you serious, Marco?" Arthur asked, astonished. "Does that mean my money will be gone if I

lose?"

"Would you like to admit your stupidity?" Marco replied. "I hope you get naked and run down the street

screaming that you're trash right now."

"Okay, I accept your offer," Arthur reluctantly agreed, seeing that he had no other choice. "I will bid on

this car for 120 million dollars, and I hope you don't bid any higher, because I don't want to look stupid

in front of the girl of my dreams."

Arthur then paid the money he promised and made a sad face in front of Marco.

In that instant, Marco felt he had won. "One hundred and thirty million dollars," he exclaimed

triumphantly and immediately paid the money, finally achieving the victory he had wanted.

Arthur raised his hands in surrender. "Alright, I admit defeat - this car is now yours for more than twice

the price, and I've lost 120 million dollars in the process. Thank you, Marco, for teaching me this

valuable lesson."

Arthur was aware that the sum of money Marco was investing in order to uphold his pride was no minor

expense, even for him, and he knew he had agitated him further with his actions.

Furthermore, Arthur had obtained information from the sales manager of the establishment that they

had even more extravagant and exclusive cars, and he had gotten this knowledge when he had

previously topped up his account with 500 million dollars and obtained the car he desired at the price of

200 million dollars.

Therefore, Arthur no longer felt the need to struggle for the sports car he was just pretending to vie for.

Arthur turned around and walked away, leaving Marco. Edna was also still holding Arthur's hand tightly,

and she had previously turned to Marco with a smile feeling the great victory that had also been won by

the boss she admired and was so proud of.

"What a bullshit!" Marco exclaimed and glared at Arthur.

He felt like he was being played with by Arthur, and he was really angry now. It was as if he had spent

money for nothing. Even Edna didn't seem the least bit affected by what he had done.

"Arthur," Marco challenged bravely, "I dare you to have a car race with me next week. Prove that you

have the courage and strength to be a man, and if you lose, you must kneel before me and admit that

you are a loser."

Arthur turned to Marco and replied, "Sure, I accept your challenge," before turning away, no longer

caring about his boasts.
