The Girl Named Mirage

Chapter 19 Blessing in Disguise

Ever since Nicolo gained enough money and power, he immediately hired a private investigator to find Mirage.

Yes.

His 10 year old self doesn’t forget that incident he and Travis saw with their own eyes. He swears to his young and powerless self that he will find his cousin no matter what and he will prove everyone who laughs at them wrong.

He held onto that promise for 25 years and who would have thought that he, himself would find her?

He knew that Ivan Wright was working with his grandfather. But as soon as he became the CEO of their company, detective Wright’s loyalty fell on his hands. He owes him big time. He owes Nicolo his family’s dear life.

Detective Ivan Wright’s wife and his 2 sons were driving home from school when they met with a traffic accident. At that time, Nicolo was heading back to the office after a meeting with all of their companies’ presidents.

His wife’s condition is critical as the collision with another car hit the driver seat. The driver of the other car was dead on the spot.

He was drunk.

As the onlookers already called 911, the ambulance seemed as if it came from the planet Mars as they arrived so late.

Nicolo, already caught in the traffic, got out of his car and examined the victims as the ambulance took forever to arrive.

He asked someone for help and took the driver and her two sons out of the car with absolute care. He knows how to handle the situation as he studied medicine like Travis before Don Augustus forced him to shift his course.

He asked everyone around for things he could use for first aid. He tried to keep his head clear enough so he could treat these people properly. When the ambulance finally arrived to take away the deceased and the injured, they thanked him for everything he had done.

The hospital was packed. There were multiple casualties from a fire that broke out. And that’s the reason why the ambulance took too long to arrive.

The nurse gave him some information about the injured patient and told him that they already called their family. She asked him to call her in case there are any emergencies. He thanked her with a polite smile.

Detective Ivan Wright came running and asked anyone where his wife and sons were. He was trying to look around but found his sons in the sea of doctors and nurses.

He still didn’t know what exactly happened. He went to them anyway as he was so worried. As soon as his body touched his two sons, he felt relief and tears falling down on his face.

“Dad!” His younger son cried out.

“I’m here, I’m here.” Detective Wright said while hugging his son tightly.

“Where’s mom?” His eldest son asked.

“She’s fine, she’s fine. She’s just unconscious right now.” Detective Wright replied. Though the truth is he really doesn’t know what condition his wife is in.

Nicolo walks towards them.

The detective’s eyes were visibly shocked as he saw the grandson and the CEO of the company his client Don Augustus owned.

“Mr. Wright.” Nicolo greeted and nodded slightly.

His eyes looked at the children again and smiled as they were fine.

“Mr. Esquibel. How come you’re here?”

” He saved us, Dad. ”

His two sons said in chorus.

The detective quickly took and shook his hand upon knowing what happened. He bows and thanks Nicolo endlessly. Then the doctor came and let them know about the good news. That his wife is stable. They also said that they need to take him to see his wife now because there are injuries she received that he needs to know. So they all followed the doctor to the private room Nicolo asked for the detective’s wife and his two sons.

“We’ll talk more later, Mr. Wright. Right now, your family needs you” Nicolo said as he gestured his head toward where the patients are. The detective nodded silently and followed the doctor inside.

Nicolo watched the door close before turning around and walking out of the hospital. Nicolo made his way to his car. He started the engine and drove out of the hospital. He stopped the car near a cafe and decided to order some hot coffee to relieve his nerves before going home.

A few days have passed and Detective Wright pays him a visit at his office. The detective is a good person and seems like an understanding father figure. The kids love him and he loves those little rascals. His wife had already recovered from the accident and his sons were doing alright. She also asked him to make sure he thanked Nicolo for her and her sons.

Nicolo said that anyone could do what he had done. And he would do just the same for anyone who needs help.

” If there’s anything I could do for you, just tell me and I will definitely and gladly help you out. “Detective Wright told him with a thankful smile. The doctor said that if it wasn’t for the first aid that Nicolo had, his wife just couldn’t make it.

Nicolo thought and hesitated for a second but then he blurted it out.

” I’m looking for someone. ”

” What’s the name? ”Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.

” Mirage. She’s my cousin. ”

Detective Wright’s lips turned into a straight line. He sighed.

” I’m already looking for her. ”

Nicolo’s eyes squinted but he didn’t say a word.

” Don Augustus was looking for her for almost two decades already. ”

Detective Wright confessed.

” Will you be alright telling me this, detective? ”

Detective Wright smiles.

” Yes. I’m breaking the confidentiality with your grandpa but I owe you big time. And besides, I think your gramps just really wants to find her to finally make everything right so I don’t see anything wrong with telling you this bit of information. ”

” Okay. Please tell me everything or anything you find out about her without telling my old man. ”

” You can rest assured, Sir Nick. ”

And now.

Nicolo asked the detective to find out about Mirage’s husband. He asked him to investigate the tragic accident that causes a ship to sink and find out if there’s a mistake from the records.

And Nicolo’s doubt was proven true. They found out Euphemia’s name on the record. Along with Elven and Arabelle Sanford.
