Chapter 424
Madison looked at the furious Jordan and gave a faint, cold smirk. "I'll handle Rebcca myself. Don't act impulsively."
Jordan scoffed. "She targeted Mia, and you want me to sit back and watch?"
Madison nodded.
Jordan was baffled, staring at her in disbelief. He ran a hand through his hair in frustration. "Ms. Madison, I don't get it. What's so intimidating about Rebecca? "You've already left the Locke family and aren't relying on them anymore. Things have already gotten to this point..."
He truly didn't understand.
Madison had the power and the connections. Why would she let Rebecca push her around? If it were him, he wouldn't tolerate it for even a day.
With a cold snort, he added, "Well, I won't put up with it."
Jordan patted Mia's head. "Even if a member of the Salle family is just a ghost, no one gets to bully them!"
Mia hugged his leg, nuzzling it affectionately. "Jordan, don't be mad."
Her sweet, endearing gesture only made him angrier.
Madison watched as the fury in Jordan's eyes seemed almost ready to take physical form. She sighed softly and said, "Wait here for a moment."
She asked Wanda to fetch her talisman-making tools. Using her spiritual power to guide the brush, she dipped into the cinnabar and quickly drew a talisman.
After finishing, she folded one talisman into a triangular shape and handed it to Jordan. "Keep this on you at all times. If anything happens to it, contact me immediately."
He took the talisman and placed it close to his chest, patting it firmly. "Ms. Madison, I'll guard it with my life."
Once Jordan ensured that Madison and the others were settled and spent some more time comforting Mia, he left the villa.
The moment he stepped outside, the warm smile on his face vanished, replaced by a sharp scowl. He muttered a curse under his breath, "Rebecca! You've got guts! I'm not a Salle if I don't deal with you." In his anger, Jordan kicked his car tire hard before letting out a cold laugh and driving off.© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

Inside the villa, Wanda was busy unpacking the luggage.
Yara nudged Jade to take Mia to a room, then floated over to Madison's side. Lifting her chin slightly, she asked, "You're just going to let
Jordan go after Rebecca? Aren't you
worried he'll cause trouble?"
Madison calmly replied, "Jordan has a fiery temper and hates injustice. If I stop him, it'll just frustrate him. It's better to let him vent. The talisman will at least ensure he won't get hurt."
Yara sprawled out on the couch, one
arm resting behind her head. She raised an eyebrow and grinned. "And you're not mad at all? Rebecca
blatantly encouraged the Lockelne
family to go after you this time. She didn't even hesitate to harm us and drive you out of the house."
Madison sat silently, her lips pressed together, her gaze fixed ahead. Seeing this, Yara smirked. "You're seething inside, aren't you?"
Madison replied, "Getting angry is pointless."
Yara sat up and leaned over, resting her chin on Madison's shoulder. Her voice turned teasing and provocative. "It may be pointless, but you're still angry, aren't you?"
Madison did not reply. She turned her head and gave Yara a sharp look. "Do you want me to get angry? Do you want me to go after Rebecca?"
Yara immediately sat upright. "I
never said that! Unlike Jordan, I'm not impulsive enough to encourage you to go against Rebecca when we all know she's favored by the heavenly will. That'd just be pushing you into the fire pit."
Madison stayed silent while Yara sat cross-legged aside. The living room fell silent.
After a while, Yara sprang up, unable to bear the quiet anymore. She began floating around the living room, visibly agitated. "Yes, I'm angry!"
