The Fortune-Telling Heiress

Chapter 391

Erwin let out a wry smile. "She truly has no faction; she's the heiress of the Locke family from Riverview. After we get out, you can ask around a bit, and you'll find out."

Liam wanted to ask more, but suddenly, a roar echoed from inside, and the dense negative energy surged violently.

"Madison, you dare to toy with me? I'll kill you!"

The negative energy exploded.

This energy forced everyone back, and those who were seriously injured fell to the ground, coughing up blood repeatedly.

"Madison!"

"Ms. Locke!"

The crowd anxiously turned their gazes toward the fighting circle.

As the negative energy dissipated, the smoke gradually cleared. At the center of the explosion, the grand hall was already reduced to ruins. Amidst the debris, Madison, dressed in a white wedding gown, firmly plunged the bronze sword into Avery's body. Avery lay on the wreckage, his clothes in tatters. His once handsome face was now twisted into a horrifying visage. Ghostly energy oozed from the wounds all over his body.

He looked up at Madison, chuckling weakly. "I underestimated you."

Madison pressed down harder on the sword. "You didn't just underestimate me. You underestimated everyone.

"Mr. Beaumont!" Madison called out, and Logan snapped back to his senses. "Chains, cage!"

A few soldiers pushed a cage covered in runes toward Avery. They used the rune-etched chains to confine him and force him inside the cage. Avery was gravely injured and lying in the cage, his true form becoming increasingly evident. He breathed heavily, his eyes fixed intently on Madison.

The rumbling finally ceased, and the tremors of the mountain stopped.

Wanda gripped a nearby tree to steady herself. "What was that sound? It sounded like cannon fire. Why would there be cannon fire?"

The soldiers stationed nearby activated their intercoms. "Alright, we're heading over to assist immediately."

"The commander has instructed us to go and provide support."

The well-trained soldiers quickly gathered their things.

Wanda and Sebastian followed closely behind. They made their way to the stone bridge.

Logan and the others leaned on each other as they walked across the bridge, their bodies smeared with blood and ash. Under the moonlight, they looked particularly disheveled.

Logan handed the cultivator he was supporting to one of the soldiers and said, "Report to the higher-ups and ask how we should handle this situation."

"Yes."

"Mr. Beaumont, Ms. Locke..."novelbin

Logan pointed behind him and smiled. "Ms. Locke is truly impressive!"

As Wanda was about to say something, Sebastian had already crossed the stone bridge.

Erwin said, "Ms. Locke, are you really alright? You have a heavy concentration of negative energy in your body."

Madison shook her head. "I just need to cultivate for a while to disperse the negative energy."

Erwin was about to respond, but he spotted a tall figure approaching.

He smiled and brushed off the dust and debris, sending up a cloud of gray. "Ms. Locke, we'll have a proper talk next time." "Mm."

Madison also noticed the figure, and when it reached her, she asked in confusion, "Why are you here? You..."

A wave of negative energy surged through her, making her cough lightly as thick black blood oozed from the corner of her lips. Madison reached up to wipe it away, preparing to ask more questions.

Suddenly, Sebastian wrapped his

arms around her waist and lifted her off the ground. Instinctively, she wrapped her arms around

Sebastian's neck and looked at him. "I'm fine. I just got hurt by the negative energy. I'll be okay after some rest."

Sebastian stared straight ahead as if he didn't hear her words.

As Madison gazed at his jawline and tightly pressed lips, she felt an inexplicable flutter in her heart.

She hadn't felt fear when facing Avery. Yet now, she felt a vague sense of unease around Sebastian.
