Chapter 37
Happy reading….
For the umpteenth time, Hera was tricked again by the man who was still her husband. Hera chuckled sadly as if laughing at her stupidity. She thought that Jayden’s silence was a sign that the man had agreed and would not demand anything more from her. However, Hera was wrong. Jayden was silent because there was a plan he had prepared to counterattack Hera.
Until now Hera was still confused, what actually made Jayden still want to keep him with her? Was he still not satisfied with hurting her?
‘I think so.’ Hera whispered in her heart.
Now everything Jayden did was turning against Hera. Even just to defend herself, Hera was not given a chance.
The Hera family’s living room which is now filled with only Andrew, Anne and Hera feels so tense. Andrew felt so ashamed of the Jaydens that he dragged his wife and daughter away from the hospital before finding out how Elvis was.
Andrew glared at Hera who now could only look down in front of him.
“Don’t you want to say anything, Hera?” Andrew asked breaking the silence.
Hera looked up at her father and mother alternately. There was no longer any sense of trust in those eyes then why was Hera defending herself now?
“Oh my God, Hera! You don’t even feel the slightest guilt about what you’ve done?” said Andrew sounding very frustrated.
Anne rubbed her husband’s shoulder trying to calm him down. “Patience, honey. Take care of your emotions,” she said worriedly.
“How can I be patient when my only daughter who I’m so proud of now disappoints me,” said Andrew and then massaged his head that felt like it was going to burst.
“Sorry, Dad,” Hera whispered making the husband and wife look at her. Hera looked up at them and continued her speech. “But I can’t admit to something I didn’t do.”
“What did you say?” Andrew was furious. Walking towards Hera intending to slap the woman again.
“Enough, Andrew!” But before he could touch Hera, Anne had already become a protective wall for her daughter.
“You’re defending this ignorant child, huh?” shouted Andrew.
“I’ve never justified what Hera did….” Anne turned to her daughter with teary eyes. Her net fell on the corner of the girl’s lips, which had been injured by Andrew’s slap earlier. That was why she couldn’t let her husband hit her daughter again. Not before passing Anne first. “If that’s true,” she continued looking at her husband.
“What do you mean, Anne? So you still can’t believe your daughter is having an affair?” Andrew asked, staring in disbelief at his wife.
“Why should I trust other people over my own daughter? I know my child. I gave birth to and raised her. Tell her what is good and bad. Then why should I believe in others when someone badmouths her?”
“ANNE!!!” cried Andrew loudly.
“Why? Was my word wrong?” replied Anne, staring intently at her husband. Now you know where does Hera get her stubbornness and doesn’t give up easily. It was passed down by Anne.
Andrew’s jaw clenched and his fists clenched at his sides as if ready to crush anything in his path. But that sharp gaze gradually faded. So did Anne. Both of them realized that this matter would not be solved if neither of them relented.
Anne drew closer to Andrew and hugged her husband. “I’m sure you’ll have more faith in your child too. Hera couldn’t have done something like that,” whispered Anne, stroking her husband’s back.
Andrew didn’t return the hug. He just let his wife continue to hug him until the middle-aged man gently pushed his wife’s body then left without another word.

Hera sighed heavily when she saw her mother who was now sitting down on the edge of the bed. The woman’s steps were so heavy to approach her mother. The last time Hera saw her mother cry at her wedding was because she wasn’t happy like now, she was crying because she was disappointed.
“Mom…” Hera called softly making her mother turn around.
Seeing Anne extending her hand made Hera immediately hug the woman. Crying loudly like a child who just had a fight with her friend.
“I’m sorry, Mom … hiks. Really I didn’t do it … hiks,” said Hera sobbing there.
“I know. You can’t do such a shameful thing,” said Anne, stroking Hera’s hair gently.
They broke the hug. “You really believe me?” asked Hera.
“Of course I believe you,. You’re not a liar and I’m sure of that,” said Anne.
From the start, Anne did not believe what Jayden said. Hera is having an affair? That’s not possible. Anne actually suspects that it was actually Jayden who cheated on Hera.
Not without reason Anne felt that way. When Hera gave birth, she could see there was a glint of anger and disappointment in Hera’s eyes but she covered it with a sweet smile. The reason that also underlies why Anne brought Hera with her. But unfortunately Hera did not want to share the story, making Anne think that she was the only one who was paranoid.
But last night her suspicions came back. Hera sued Jayden for divorce when their relationship was fine. Maybe only in the public eye. She don’t know, only they know. Then suddenly Jayden even said Hera was having an affair.
If it was Hera who had been having an affair all this time, why did Jayden only say it now when Hera filed for divorce?
It was too suspicious for Anne.
“Thank you, mom. For believing in me. I will prove if what Jayden said is not true,” said Hera holding her mother’s hands tightly trying to convince the woman. Because right now the only one on her side is Anne.
“Sure. So are you ready to tell Mother everything now?” she asked.
Hera flinched. Is this the right time for Hera to tell her mother all about Jayden’s rottenness?ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
But in the end Hera shook her head. “No, Mom. I can still deal with it on my own. I just have a mom who always supports me, that’s enough,” said Hera smiling.
Anne gave Hera a proud smile. Didn’t think that hier daughter had really grown up now. Anne had always taught Hera not to involve her parents in her domestic relationship and Hera proved that. Now Anne can only hope that the child can face everything well without hurting anyone again.

The atmosphere in the big house still felt very awkward. Since that incident, Anne had asked Hera and Juan to stay with her until things calmed down.
Hera tried to dig up her father’s trust but it was very difficult because Andrew seemed to build a barrier between them.
“You have to be more patient. In persuading your father,” said Anne encouragingly to Hera who was breastfeeding Juan.
“Yes, mom,” replied Hera with a smile. Until that smile faded instantly when Andrew received the call.
“What is it?” Andrew asked making Anne and Hera look at him curiously.
Andrew’s eyes went wide there. He seemed very surprised by the news he heard.
“What? Mr. Elvis pased away?”
