SINGLE MOTHER AND CEO

Paranoid

Rafael:

-And why haven’t you made the clarification every time the news has been published on the networks? -Reyner complained to me.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

-Because I have more valuable and important things to invest my time in, than giving answers to the paranoid madness of a rich and rude little girl -I expressed, angrily.

“And I warn you, your daughter will pay me for any damage Sofia Morales suffers,” I said angrily, controlling myself so as not to lose my temper.

-You’re an imbecile! When you can’t even tell the difference between a good girl and a prostitute? -As soon as he finished these words, I went at him with fury, breaking his face with a single right blow that I gave him, and he fainted.

Immediately, Jose David intervened in defense of his father. However, he could not do anything to me, since my bodyguards subdued him. In view of the scandal generated, the Commissioner who was in the room intervened.

-Rafael, it is necessary that you try to control yourself and not take justice into your own hands. Be patient, we are closer to finding her, in spite of what she declared, who kidnapped her,” nodded the Commissioner.

-What did she say? -I asked intrigued, since I was not aware of that. The commissioner regretted having made the comment in front of so many people.

-Come on! Let’s talk somewhere else,” he invited me.

-I came to confirm that Yoly is really in a coma! And not that this is a trick of hers, to evade justice,” I clarified my presence in that place.

-I talked to the doctor and he showed me the results of the studies and tests that were done,” the Commissioner told me, adding, “He recommended me to look for a certain Soto, an eminent neurologist, who is here at the hospital and who gave the initial diagnosis.

-Come on, I’ll go with you! -I encouraged the Commissioner, who was not very convinced about looking for the specialist.

-Well! Let’s go,” he agreed.

When we arrived at the doctor’s office where he was, we spent approximately thirty minutes waiting for him to leave. When he was finally able to see us, he gave the same explanation that the other doctor had given to the Commissioner:

“He was in a coma and we do not know how long he will be like this, not even if he will wake up from it. The causes that originated this were a drug overdose and a strong blow to the head, apart from the other blows that he had on his body”.

-Are you relatives of the young woman? -asked Dr. William Soto.

-No!” I answered without wanting to give any further explanation. “What for? It wasn’t worth it,” I thought. Giving thanks we left the place, but not before hearing that a patient that the doctor had kept hospitalized there, had fully awakened.

The Narrator:

Dr. Soto, saying goodbye to them, left with hurried steps to where the young woman he had rescued was. Once he reached the room, he found her sitting on the edge of the gurney, stunned by her beautiful face.

He had assigned the hired nurse to fix her hair, which was tangled and uneven. She had apparently found no better way to do his hair than to cut his long hair almost to a bob.

Obviously, this type of cut exposed her beautiful and perfect features. She was a very beautiful woman. When she saw the doctor, she greeted him with a smile, she recognized him because every time she woke up he was by her side.

Dr. Soto talked to her again. He discovered that in spite of having an inability to remember the past, both immediate and distant, she remembered her name, her name was Sofia, she said, in the midst of a sea of doubts.

Likewise, upon reviewing her latest studies she discovered that the concussion was mild, therefore, physical and mental rest will help her recover more quickly. Consequently, she presumes her amnesia may be transitory.

-How are you feeling? -he asked.

-Fine, doctor! I don’t have a headache anymore, nor do I feel any discomfort,” she answered, “Can you explain how I got here? -She asked, observing everything, fixing her gaze on him.

-I found you, stuffed in a bag, at the entrance of the farm, where I have my mother spending some time to relax from the stress of the city.

-What do you mean, my body fits in a bag? -she asked, looking at his anatomy.

-How tall are you? -the doctor asked.

-Mmm! I don’t know, doctor! I don’t remember,” she added in her sweet, melodious voice.

-You don’t remember if you are married either? Do you have children? -he asked.

-Mmm! No, I don’t know,” she answered, putting her hands to her face.

-Is your head hurting again? -asked the doctor.

-No!” she answered, showing annoyance at the doctor’s questions.

-Well! Now I want to tell you something. You are discharged, but as you don’t remember your family, or where you are from, I will take you to the farm where my mother is, so that you can finish recovering, do you agree? -he asked.

-Okay, as the doctor says! -she said, submissive.

That afternoon, Sofia was taken by Dr. Soto to the farm where her mother lives, who by the way is bipolar. She suffers from alternating between a manic and a depressive phase. To avoid problems with her, he emphasized with the staff to keep an eye on her.

He, that night, slept at the farmhouse accompanying Sofia until she fell asleep. Once he was separated from her, he went out to the terrace, where he was analyzing this situation: she was a young woman of about twenty-three, at most twenty-five years old.

“She is beautiful and does not look like a person who has had a bad life. Her hands are beautiful and delicate, as are her feet. Her skin is like porcelain and her face is beautiful,” he thought.

“Her long hair is gone, she looks like someone else with this new haircut,” he reflected regretting and remembering this, although even so, she looks beautiful. Especially those blue eyes and her full lips so perfectly outlined.

“Tomorrow, it will be another day and I will start the inquiries to find the whereabouts of her relatives” was his last thought before entering his room to sleep.

Hours earlier, in Ciudad La Rosa:

Rafael:

Meeting with the commando group, I received information that I already knew, from the meeting held with Reyner and Jose David, at the hospital.

-In conclusion, where is Sofia? -I asked, losing my temper.

-Sir, if you let us finish, we will get to that point! -He explained, causing Rafael to almost faint from the shock, he took a chair and sat down.

-The case is that the place where they left the bag is the entrance of a farm, property of a very famous neurologist in the region. When we were there, investigating without making a fuss and without any search, we only found his mother, his domestic staff and his nurse. Nobody else!

“Now, there are those who claim in the area that someone rescued a woman who was in a black bag and took her to a health center. But, they don’t know in what condition she is in, just as they don’t know who did it.

-What is the doctor’s name? -asked Rafael.

-William Soto,” answered the group leader.

-That was the doctor I met today at the Central Hospital and who was called urgently, because a patient he was keeping there had just woken up,” I added, thinking, “could it be her?

In view of this, we rushed to the hospital; however, when we arrived, late in the afternoon, the doctor had left. Talking to the director of the hospital, he told us that a few days ago, Soto had taken a patient with a concussion problem.

-He is an eminence in the area of Neurology. Since he came to take advantage of our equipment to evaluate someone, we asked him to collaborate in some cases,” he said.

“And we even hospitalized a young woman here who underwent multiple studies and tests. This is because in the area where she lives, she does not have access to this equipment,” he continued with the explanation.

“The same was discharged today,” he smiled…
