Chapter 45
Chapter 45 Theodore Came Knocking
Gwen calmly sat down and smiled. “You were just taken away by the ambulance yesterday, and now, you’re alrea discharged. Mr. Lowe, you seem to be in great health.”
“Ms. Lawson, you must be joking. I’m only worried about disrupting the company’s business,” Carson responded.
His head was still wrapped in bandages, and his hospital gown peeked out from beneath his suit jacket. He gave a greasy smile, saying, “I rushed back because I realized I hadn’t told you the insider information about Quantum Corporation.”
Gwen gestured toward the coach with her chin, signaling him to sit down.
This man was insufferable. He had stayed silent when she had asked nicely. Now, after getting beaten up, he brought the news to her personally.
“Quantum Corporation’s nanorobots project is fully developed and ready to launch. It just happens to coincide with our Savant Group’s medical development plans.”
Impatience flickered through Gwen’s eyes as she rubbed her temples. “If you have nothing useful to say, get out,” she snapped.
Carson trembled upon hearing this. He was well aware that her threats were never empty. He quickly continued, Quantum Corporation has partnered with Hall Group. They’re in the final stages of signing the agreements.”
“Hall Group?” Gwen repeated, surprised by this information.
Carson attempted to step closer to her to explain himself. However, he immediately backed off once he met her warning glare.
“I received news that they’ll be holding a small interview at an equestrian club in the suburbs in a few days to seal the deal,” he continued.
Gwen twirled her golden pen and looked up at him. “Is the source reliable?”
“Absolutely! I can guarantee it with my life!” he assured,
Gwen murmured and lowered her gaze in acknowledgement.
Such high level confidential information could only come from the higher–ups.
Carson knew better than to cross Gwen again. Next time, the consequences wouldn’t be as simple as just a few broken
ribs.
“Ms. Lawson, if the project with Quantum Corporation goes through, I have a small favor to ask,” Carson requested with a hint of flattery in his voice. C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.
Gwen had already anticipated his request. “You want to be involved in this project?”
“Your insight is remarkable. You always know what I’m thinking,” he continued to compliment her.
Gwen averted her gaze and dismissed him coldly, “I understand. You may leave now.”
After Carson closed the door carefully, Gwen sat in thought for a moment and made her decision. She was going to attend the upcoming interview session.
In Bellmont City, any significant business deal inevitably involved Hall Group. Since it was impossible to avoid them, she decided she might as well face them head–on and see who would come out at the top.
She unlocked her phone and scrolled through the latest headlines. To her surprise, all the trending topics about the Hall family had disappeared within three days. Several media accounts had even been shut down.
Hall Group’s official account had also released a statement, flatly denying all three topics.
Gwen couldn’t help but sneer as her expression turned cold. It was nothing more than a cover–up. If they cared so

much about their reputation, they shouldn’t have engaged in such scandalous actions in the first place.
Just then, a knock at the door echoed. The investment project department manager, Larry Hopkins, walked in and handed her some documents.
“Ms. Lawson, here are all the candidates for this recruitment.”
The investment project department was a key unit within Savant Group’s Bellmont City branch, one Gwen took very seriously. Previously, due to a shortage of skilled talent, the department hadn’t been able to reach their full potential. However, the HR department had worked tirelessly to prepare for recruitment, and now, the team was nearly complete. Gwen quickly scanned through the resumes, nodding in approval. But her smile vanished the moment she saw a particular name. She pointed at the photo on the resume and jabbed at it repeatedly.
Theodore Quinn!
She coldly ordered Larry, “Remove this person.
Larry checked the name and looked troubled.
“Ms. Lawson, Theodore Quinn has extensive experience in investment banking. He made a name for himself on Wolf Street at just 15 years old. He’s exactly what our department needs,” he persuaded.
Gwen wasn’t interested in listening further. She and Theodore were rivals, the kind who made her blood boil. “Remove him, do you understand?”
Reluctantly, Larry agreed. Just as he was about to leave, Gwen stopped him.
“Wait a moment.”
