Chapter 10
Chapter 10
Chapter 10.
Nelly’s POV.
Wrapping the blanket around my body, | stumbled towards the bathroom, my feet sore and aching. It was as if every step took all the energy | had left. | sat in the water closet, my hands covering my face, trying to block out the world around me.
| could not help but wonder why my destiny was so cruel to me. | had heard countless tales of others’ first times of being wrapped in their man’s arms, of breakfast in bed, of being pampered and massaged.
But for me, there was only coldness and indifference. It was as if | were nothing more than a piece of trash to be discarded. | knew that there was nothing special about me, that | was not worthy of love. | was simply a tool, to be used and discarded when no longer needed.
If only Astel had not rejected me, | would not be in this state. | had been so happy when | first came to this pack, but now | was not sure if | had made a mistake. | thought that | had found my place in the world, but now | was not so sure.
What if | was doomed to be alone, to be used and discarded like trash? | shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. | had to find a way to move on, to put the past behind me. But it was so difficult to do when the wounds were still so fresh.
| had vowed not to cry, but the tears came anyway, spilling down my cheeks and dripping onto the cold tile floor. | let them fall, giving in to the pain and despair that had been building inside me.
When | was finally through, | grabbed a tissue and blew my nose, then flushed it away. | leaned back against the closet, letting my body relax into the cool surface.
| heard footsteps approaching the bathroom door, and | knew it was Alpha Rex. | had locked the door, so it could only be him with the key.
| scrambled to turn on the shower, hoping the sound of the water would mask my presence. | didn’t want him to come in, | just wanted to be left alone.
| stepped out of the shower, the cool air of the bathroom a welcome relief after the steamy heat. | expected to see Alpha Rex standing there, but to my surprise, he was gone. | felt a wave of relief wash over me.

| opened the wardrobe and pulled out a pair of jeans and a crop top. | dressed quickly, | packed my hair and stepped out of the bedroom, ready to face the day.
| knocked on Aisha’s door, but there was no answer. | pushed the door open slightly, peeking inside. The room was empty. She must be in the kitchen, | thought to myself. | began to walk down the hallway, my footsteps echoing against the walls.
Just as | placed my foot on the first step, the world seemed to spin around me and | felt myself falling. | let out a scream as | tumbled down the stairs, my body bouncing against each step. My vision was a blur, my mind racing. | tried to grab hold of the railing, but my hands were too weak.
| felt myself coming to a stop at the bottom of the stairs, my body aching and sore. | tried to sit up, but the pain was too much. | could hear someone laughing, but | couldn’t make out their words. | lay there, attempting to catch my breath.
As my senses returned, | looked up and saw Emily standing at the top of the stairs, laughing hysterically. My anger boiled over, and all | wanted to do was to beat the living daylights out of her.
But my body was too weak, and | could barely move. | tried to speak, but my words. came out as a strangled cry. | felt like a trapped animal, my heart racing and my breath. coming in short gasps.
“That’s for sitting on top of my man last night,” she said, her voice filled with disdain.
I spat on her, | watched as the spittle hit her cheek, the anger burning in her eyes.
“If | can’t hit you, | will at least hurt your ego,” | said, my voice dripping with venom.Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
| watched as she wiped the spit from her face, her expression full of fury. | felt a moment of satisfaction, knowing | had struck a nerve. But | knew this was only the beginning, and | braced myself for the storm to come.
| felt her fingers entwine in my hair, pulling hard. | cried out in pain, but she didn’t let
go.
| raised my hands to try to free myself, but she was too strong.
| felt helpless, my head throbbing from the force of her grip. “Let go!” | screamed, my voice h oa rse from the effort. But she didn’t listen, only tightening her grip. | could feel my eyes filling with tears, and | knew | was powerless to stop her.
“What's going on here?” Alpha Kex’s voice rang out, reverberating through the air.
Emily released her grip on my hair and bent down in front of me, her eyes wide and innocent. “Kex, come over,” she said in a high-pitched, babyish voice. “Nelly fell down,

please come help.”
| sat there, a mess of tangled hair and bruises, and felt my stomach churn. | wanted to scream, to tell him what had really happened, but | couldn’t find the words.
Alpha Kex came over to us, his eyes narrowing as he took in my disheveled appearance. “Couldn't you watch where you were going?” he said, his voice stern.
| opened my mouth to speak, but before | could say a word, Emily jumped in. “Don’t scold her, Kex,” she said, her voice like honey. “She’s in pain.”
| felt my anger rising, my fists clenching at my sides. How could she lie so easily, as if it was nothing?
With a hiss of frustration, Alpha Kex picked me up and carried me to my room. Emily followed behind us, her footsteps light as a feather.
She opened the wardrobe and pulled out the first aid kit, setting it on the bed next to me. | could feel Alpha Kex eyes on me, studying my every move.
| tried to hold still, but my limbs were shaking with anger and fear. | could feel the heat of their stares on my skin, and | wanted nothing more than to escape.
Emily carefully treated my wounds, her gentle touch belying the turmoil | felt inside. “You should be more careful, my dear,” she said, her voice sweet and patronizing. | rolled my eyes, unable to stop myself. “Done,” she said, standing up and giving me a sickeningly sweet smile.
“And where are your manners?” Alpha Kex asked.
“Thank you.” | muttered.
“You are welcome,” she added, as if she had done me some great service.
| gave her a dirty look.
