Chapter 39
James' phone suddenly rang; looking at Rachel's number surprised him so much that he frowned and then hung up directly as he disliked Rachel very much.
Vivienne thought that playing a prank on Sebastian would make him feel better, but the good mood only lasted for a short time. After returning home, Vivienne lay in bed and suddenly felt heavy-hearted with no joy at all. Two days passed without any news; Vivienne couldn't sleep.
She lay in bed until dawn without turning on the lights. Wearing her pajamas, she stood on the balcony and lit up a cigarette.
She laughed at herself; wasn't it because of her that Sebastian was having such bad luck? The situation was so difficult now, yet she still went to provoke Sebastian, which was like courting death.
Vivienne hated this difficult situation she found herself in.
As she lost herself in thought, there was suddenly some noise coming from the next-door balcony. She looked over and saw a man and woman making love on their balcony late at night. Vivienne smiled; it was her first time seeing her neighbors. Should she say hello?Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
She lit another cigarette out of interest while watching them. Before finishing one stick of cigarette, the woman accidentally noticed a flickering light from an adjacent balcony and screamed loudly out of fear. Vivienne lazily leaned against the railing, feeling bored, then decided to go back inside when the man slowly straightened his clothes: "Hello?"
His voice sounded hoarse under the cold night sky but surprisingly pleasant even though he had been watched by others without feeling ashamed.
Vivienne paused for a moment, then thought: "This guy is interesting."
