Mute

Mute 4

Aria’s POV

The rain poured down relentlessly as I stood on the doorstep of the small, weather- beaten house. I had been in the Bluewave pack for two weeks now, ever since I made the difficult decision to leave the LightShadow pack behind.

Caspian’s betrayal had shattered me, but I refused to let it break me completely. With a hardened heart, I decided to accept my fate and move on.

That rainy night, I had nowhere else to turn. Knocking on the door of the old couple who lived on the outskirts of the Bluewave pack, I hoped for refuge from the storm.

To my relief, they welcomed me inside, their kind hearts moved by my plight. They took pity on me, a mute outsider, and offered me a place to stay.

Despite their generosity, life in the Bluewave pack was not easy. I worked tirelessly, putting in long hours during the day and night to earn enough money to survive. The couple had taken me in, but I refused to be a burden to them. I toiled in the fields and helped with household chores, determined to fend for myself..

However, living in the Bluewave pack came with its own challenges. I wasn’t allowed to venture too far from the safety of the old couple’s home, as my scent marked me as an outsider. The fear of being deemed an intruder and charged with treason loomed over me like a dark cloud.

But despite it all, I persevered. With each passing day, I grew stronger, both physically and emotionally. I refused to let Caspian’s betrayal define me. Instead, I focused on rebuilding my life and finding my place in this new pack.

I had just finished my work for the day and was heading home, tired but grateful for the shelter the old couple had provided me. But as I stepped through the door, my heart. stopped. The air was thick with a metallic scent, and dread filled the room like a heavy fog.

I saw them lying on the floor, their bodies twisted and broken, blood staining the ground around them. I couldn’t move, couldn’t breathe, as shock washed over me like a tidal wave. I collapsed to the ground, unable to comprehend the horror before my eyes.

The sight was too much to hear. These were the people who had taken me in when I had nowhere else to go, who had shown me kindness and compassion. And now they were gone, taken from me in the most brutal way imaginable.

My heart raced with panic as I realized the murderers were returning. I couldn’t afford o linger there any longer, or I’d meet the same gruesome fate as the elderly couple.

With trembling hands, I shifted into my wolf form and fled from the house, my paws >ounding against the damp earth in frantic strides.

As I darted into the heart of the Bluewave pack, I ignored the warnings ringing in my nind, reminding me that I didn’t belong there.

Survival was my only concern now, driving me forward with single-minded

determination. But my flight was short-lived as a group of men intercepted me, their voices harsh and accusing.

“Intruder!” one of them barked, his grip like tightening around my neck as they dragged

me away.

Fear clenched my heart as I was led towards the imposing silhouette of the Alpha’s castle, where judgment awaited me.

I was ushered into the presence of Alpha Brent, the imposing man of authority in the Bluewave pack.

“Who are you, and where did you come from?” Alpha Brent demanded, his glare piercing through me like daggers.

Unable to speak, I raised my hands to communicate through sign language, but his expression darkened with impatience.

“Speak!” he barked, his voice reverberating off the walls of the chamber.

My heart pounded in my chest as I took a hard, hurtful gulp.

With trembling hands, I signed my response, hoping he would understand. Alpha Brent’s frown deepened, and he exchanged a perplexed glance with his beta.

“It seems she’s a mute,” the beta remarked, breaking the tense silence.

The woman swiftly translated my words to Alpha Brent, and his expression darkened with fury upon hearing about the murders.

That’s enough,” he growled, his voice laced with anger.

The old couple lived alone for years, and nothing like this had ever happened until your arrival.” He shot me a suspicious look.

I met his gaze with determination as I signed, defending myself by explaining that if I hadn’t run away, I would have suffered the same fate as the old couple.NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.

Alpha Brent’s glare intensified as he demanded to know which pack I came from, sensing that I was an outsider due to my scent.

When I signed ‘Light Shadow Pack,’ Alpha Brent leaped to his feet with a bewildered expression, exclaiming, “What!?”

I was left confused, unable to fathom why Alpha Brent had reacted with such bitterness to my explanation.

Then, Alpha Brent lost his cool, his voice dripping with anger. “How dare a

LightShadow member step foot into my territory!” he growled, his tone harsh and unforgiving.
