Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 427

Selena couldn't help but be amazed at how lavishly he lived. Despite everything, he certainly wasn't stingy with his cash.

She dove into deep discussions with Alex.

After picking out the villa, they moved on to selecting the interior decor, furniture, and all that jazz.

Everett wandered out of his study and spotted Selena soaking up the sun, the warm golden rays casting a glow on her cheeks, making her seem like she was practically glowing. Somehow, that light found a way to brighten his heart.

Just a moment before, he was boiling with anger and frustration over the mess his uncles had created, a storm raging in his chest. Yet, her presence magically seemed to calm the chaos. Somehow, this woman had become a source of peace for him. And he was totally okay with that.

He leaned against the railing, his gaze fixed on her. When she finally sensed his eyes on her and looked up, their gazes locked, heavy with unspoken connection and allure. Selena's lips curved into a gentle smile, a stark change from her earlier gloominess, now full of life like spring after a rainstorm.

Driven by an irresistible urge, Everett made his way over with long strides and sat next to her, casually wrapping an arm around her waist as they looked through the catalog together. As Alex was about to stand and greet him, Everett waved him off. "No need for formalities."

"Of course, Mr. Everett."

Though Alex's tone was calm, his mind was racing. He had seen Mr. Everett's ruthless and fierce side in the business world.

He seemed like a refined gentleman, but he was actually pretty dangerous.

So, it was hard to imagine this homey side of him, so different from the tough guy in the business world.

Alex couldn't help but give Selena another glance, suddenly understanding why his mentor had risked his career to help Mrs. Everett. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

It must have been because he realized who really mattered to Mr. Everett-his wife.

Even if he had been sent to a branch office, what

Everett chuckled, "This setup is pretty much like decorating a new home, isn't it?"

Selena rolled her eyes, "That's our second home, of course, we have to pick everything carefully!"

Her words hit home for Everett, a smile lighting up his eyes, "Alright, my dear, you're spot on. I'll help you choose."

Without any fuss, Selena lounged comfortably in his arms, in his arms, directing him 1 through the catalog the catalog while fazily

Alex, sensing the moment, quietly excused himself.

Before they knew it, another week had flown by.

Alex, ever efficient, had everything set up in France just as Selena wanted.

Now, it was just a matter of the lady of the house moving in.

After wrapping up an afternoon meeting and sorting out the notes, Alex walked into Everett's office to hand them over. He paused before leaving, looking at his dashing boss, and slowly spoke.

"Mr. Everett, everything's ready in France. We just need to pick a date for when Mrs. Everett would like to go." Everett, sitting behind his spacious desk, paused from signing documents. He had never felt time slip away so quickly. Putting down his pen, a restlessness stirred within him. He pulled out a pack of cigarettes, lit one, and took a slow drag. After a moment, as the smoke swirled around him, his husky voice broke the silence.

"Book the tickets for three days from now."

Alex nodded, "Yes, sir."

Unnoticed, a slender figure stood just outside the door, eavesdropping on the entire conversation...
