Love’s Harsh Reality Novel

Chapter 12

Scarlett regarded the newcomers with a calculating glint in her eyes before whispering to Cindy, “Here comes our ATM. You know what to do, right?”

Cindy’s eyes lit up with understanding as she heard the malevolent tone. With a sly smile, she glanced at Eliza and said, “Got it.”

Scarlett gestured to the clothes on the mannequins. “I want all of these,”

“Sure, miss.” Cindy instantly adopted a respectful tone, and she directed the other staff to attend to Eliza and Derick

As Scarlett’s and Derick’s eyes met, there was no emotion in her gaze, while his eyes were inscrutable.

Scarlett maintained her usual icy demeanor, revealing nothing of her feelings for Derick

Eliza, seeing their exchange, rightly clung to Derick’s arm and flashed a

da provocative smile.

“Ms. Miller, you were quite the star at the auction. Now you’re here to buy Kismet’s clothes. It seems like your man is really good to you,” Eliza said mockingly. Scarlett’s lavishness was beyond extravagant. This sparked a deep sense of jealousy in Eliza, © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

Scarlett’s smile remained composed. “It’s only right for my man to treat me well”

Suddenly, a cold gaze locked onto her, and Scarlett knew it was Derick

He looked at Elza tenderly. His voice was low and endearing as he said, “Liz, I didn’t get the violet diamond for you just now. Buy whatever you like here. As my woman, you deserve only the best.”

Eliza was overjoyed by Derick’s affection and looked triumphantly at Scarlett.

Scarlett’s lowered gaze seemed to suggest that such treatment was something she had rarely encountered in her life.

Eliza’s guess was correct. Derick had never publicly acknowledged Scarlett as his partner,

Derick cast a brief glance at Scarlett, but her composed demeanor only fueled his anger further.

Scarlett’s inner thoughts were filled with cold derision. The difference between love and indifference was stark. Derick had never spoken to her with such warmth “You’re too kind, Derick. I’m not lacking anything, but a woman can never have too many clothes. So I guess I’ll take everything here,” Eliza said, feigning reluctance Derick handed his card to Cindy. “Charge it.”

Cindy looked apologetically at Derick. “I’m sorry, sir. The items you’re interested in were selected by this lady first”

Derick’s dark, penetrating gaze swept over Scarlett, and he smirked. “I’ll pay double to buy everything.”

Cindy pretended to be in a difficult position and glanced at Scarlett. “Miss….

Scarlett’s eyes fell on Derick, who was a combination of allure and arrogance, with features that were strikingly handsome

Her smile was tinged with scorn as she said with a nonchalant tone, “Give them to him. I won’t compete with a mistress and a mad dag. It’s beneath my dignity.”

Eliza was stunned. Hearing Scarlett use the term “mistress” for the first time made her tremble with rage. Derick, I’m not…”

She Iraned against Derick, looking distressed.

Cindy was speechless and shocked by such two–faced acting she knew that if Eliza just said the word, men would do anything for her.

Derick’s eyes, cold and imposing, fixedon Scarlett. “Be careful with your words, Ms. Miller. Don’t force me to be impolite.”

Scarlett raised an eyebrow. Her eyes flashed with a natural grandeur and a commanding pressure as she looked meaningfully at the couple. “Did I say something wrong about the mistress and the mad dog?

“You’re looking for trouble, Scarlett Miller” Derick’s fury reached its peak. His anger flared, and he grabbed Scarlett by the throat

His eyes were filled with murderous intent. “Scarlett, you-

Her nonchalant and playful attitude threw him off guard. The moment he saw the hatred in her eyes, the words he was about to say caught in his throat.

“Let go.” Scarlett felt her throat burn with pain.

Cindy’s eyes darkened with fierce intensity. They glinted with a hint of violence.

How dare this scumbag bully Scarlett?

Her steps were firm, and she was ready to launch an attack at Derick
