LOVE YOU, UNCLE

LYU 78

Meanwhile, Randy, bombarded with so many questions from Darwin, didn’t answer immediately. Adjusting his sitting position, he then slowly began to explain.

“The story is quite long, Win.”

“As long as it takes, I’ll listen,” Darwin quickly responded. “Don’t worry; my schedule is clear today.”

“Do you remember Agista, right?”

“Yeah, your ex who left to marry that sugar daddy?”

“Hmm…” Randy sighed lazily. “Yeah, she became the representative for Velfire. Velfire appointed her to oversee the progress of the project in Indonesia. She was placed in Akasia’s head office for two months.”

“And then?”

“So, a while ago, I had a business trip to Singapore. It was also for a meeting with Velfire to discuss the collaboration’s progress. Initially, everything went smoothly. No problems at all.”

“Well then, why did you unilaterally cancel the partnership, Ran,” Darwin interrupted. Randy hadn’t finished telling the story yet.

“Listen first,” Randy growled. He explained the matter to his cousin, feeling somewhat annoyed.

“Okay… okay… go on. I’ll stay silent and listen to your story.”

“Everything went smoothly on the second day of my stay in Singapore. Everything was going according to plan. The problem arose on the second night after I finished a meeting. I returned to my hotel room to rest. After showering, I had an unexpected visitor. Agista. She suddenly appeared in my room. I don’t know how she got in because I’m sure I locked the room. I don’t know if she had some connection with hotel staff who helped her unlock my room.”

“And then… what… what was she doing in your room?” Darwin looked curious. He focused his gaze on Randy without blinking.

“Do you want to know why she came to my room?”

Darwin shook his head, then replied, “What’s it?”

“She invited me to sleep together. She even dared to undress in front of me.”All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

“Crazy!” Darwin exclaimed in disbelief. His eyes widened hearing what Randy had just revealed. “So, she threw away her dignity, undressed in front of you just to ask you to sleep together?”

Randy nodded.

“Yes, Win.”

“Then, did you accept her offer to sleep together? It would be a waste to let it go, Ran. After all, she’s your ex-lover. When else could you sleep with someone you used to adore?”

Randy sighed. Darwin spoke so casually.

“Just randomly. I’m not like you who sleeps with ex-girlfriends. Sorry, we’re on different levels.”

“Damn!” Darwin cursed in frustration. Randy insulted and spoke ill of him. “Okay, continue. So, what did you do to this Agista? You can’t just let it slide, right?”

“Just so you know, I immediately kicked her out of the room.”

“Completely naked?”

Randy nodded.

“Yes, in the nude. I deliberately dragged her out to get her out.”

“Crazy. But wait…” Darwin interrupted. “Was Agista really naked? I mean completely naked?”

Randy nodded, confirming.

“Iya. Completely bare.”

“Oh my God, that’s audacious. Besides, she should have put on some clothes. It’s pitiful, Ran. She might catch a cold, you know.”

“Why feel sorry for her?” Randy dismissed at that moment. “She wasn’t even ashamed of embarrassing herself. So, why should I bother feeling sorry for her?”

“So, did you really drag her out like that?”

Randy then shook his head.

“Initially, I wanted to. But she started crying. So, I gave her the dress to put on immediately. After that, I warned her not to show up in front of me again, or she would regret it.”

Darwin nodded in understanding. Still, he remained eager to hear the continuation of Randy’s story.

“And then, what’s the connection with Velfire? Why did Velfire’s CEO apologize through you?”

Randy seemed to reach for the teacup in front of him. He sipped half of it, moistening his throat, before continuing the story he was going to tell Darwin.

“Don’t you get it? Agista is an expert staff member from Velfire. So, the next day, I asked Velfire to pull Agista out of Akasia. I asked them to replace her with someone else, or I would cancel the collaboration. But they objected. They explained extensively that Agista was their best staff, insisting on using her for this project. Well, I explained, I was uncomfortable with Agista mixing personal matters with work. Moreover, her actions had crossed the line. But since Velfire found it difficult to replace her, I chose to withdraw.”

“And after you withdrew, did they realize they lost a significant partner?”

Randy nodded.

“I gave them a chance. I even asked them to reconsider. But they remained firm. Only when I made the decision did they become confused. It’s their fault.”

Darwin shook his head in disbelief. Truly, Randy’s actions were challenging to predict.

“So now Velfire is in trouble. They contact me and Kennedy every day, asking for help to persuade you, Ran.”

“Let it be,” Randy responded casually. “If they’re serious about wanting to continue the collaboration, let the CEO come here directly to meet me. If it’s just over the phone, what’s the point? It feels insincere.”

Darwin laughed. What Randy just said made sense. Don’t just express the need, but show some effort as well.

“By the way, how are you and Ghea? Everything okay?”

Randy smiled and nodded.

“Good. So far, very good. Our relationship is getting even closer now.”

“Does Ghea know about this? About Agista-”

“The one who undressed in my hotel room? Don’t worry; I’ve told Ghea everything. I told her the whole story without leaving anything out. Initially, I was afraid she’d be angry, but in the end, she understood.”

“But, Ran,” Darwin interjected. “Have you made sure Agista didn’t record anything or take documentation that could harm you in the future?”

“Stay calm, Win,” Randy responded with a smile. “I’ve anticipated all of that. I made sure she wouldn’t do anything foolish in the future. I’ve even filed a complaint with the hotel in Singapore regarding the lack of comfort and security standards. I plan to sue them for neglecting my comfort during my stay there.”

“Crazy, it went that far.”

“So it won’t happen again in the future.”

Engrossed in their conversation and losing track of time, Randy’s phone rang. Glancing at the screen, Ghea’s name was displayed. With joy, Randy reached for his phone, intending to quickly answer the call from his wife.

“Yes, dear?”

“Can I head to Uncle’s office now?”

“Sure, come here. I’ll be done in an hour.”

“Okay. Then I’ll get ready. But first, I want to stop by the bakery.”

“Sure, dear. Take care.”

Thirty minutes passed. Darwin, who had been in Randy’s office for hours, decided to say goodbye. Besides, he also had a lunch appointment with Velove this afternoon.

However, just as he was about to leave, he heard Randy’s phone ring again. Strangely, instead of answering immediately, Randy seemed to ignore it.

“Why are you letting it ring?”

Randy shrugged.

“I hate answering calls from unknown numbers.”

“Well, what if it’s important, Ran? Just make sure to check who’s calling.”

Eventually, Randy followed Darwin’s advice. A bit reluctantly, he answered the call.

“Hello?”

“Good afternoon, is this Mr. Randy Walters?”

“Yes, this is me. Who’s this?”

“We’re calling from the police.”

Randy was immediately startled. He even sat up straight to make sure he heard what he just heard.

“The police? What’s going on?”

“Are you the owner of the black Range Rover with the license plate B 12 NDA?”

“Yes, that’s my car.”

“The car was involved in an accident on one of the toll roads. Both passengers, a male and a female, have been taken to the hospital.”

At that moment, Randy’s heart started pounding. His thoughts immediately turned to his wife, who was on her way to the office.

“Ghea?”
