Part 100 # Death
The muzzle of the gun was pointed towards Andre’s head, instantly the doctor tried to remain calm because… Lara was right behind him!
“Whoa… calm down, buddy!” Andre shouted, trying to suppress the fear that was starting to creep through his body. His life was hanging by a thread, with just one pull of the trigger, a small hole in his head would end his life instantly.
“Hurry up!” The man didn’t want to talk anymore. He really wanted to end this cat-and-mouse chase quickly. He put his glasses back on. And now he moved closer to Andre and Lara. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Andre! Just give it, Andre!” Lara pleaded, tears streaming down her face. She didn’t want the life of someone she cared about so much to be in danger.
Who could guarantee that the man was not just bluffing? The deserted road conditions were also very unfavorable for them. The day had already darkened. It was impossible for anyone to witness this terrible incident, let alone report it to the authorities.
Andre glanced at the lawyer out of the corner of his eye. In silence, they tried to communicate with a few considerations. First, if Andre just handed over the CCTV recording, then the only evidence that could incriminate Seno would truly disappear, along with other evidence that had been eliminated by the opposing party.
Second, if Andre didn’t hand over the last piece of evidence, then their lives would all be in danger. He really didn’t anticipate this interception. Andre only thought that Seno’s side would fight barbarically in court or terrorize as they had done before.
Andre truly never imagined that Seno’s side would even dare to commit another murder if necessary. They were truly ruthless!
“Just give it, Sir,” the lawyer finally said. There was nothing they could do except comply with the request of the scoundrels in front of them. What should be defended if lives were at stake?
With a heavy heart, Andre nodded. He began to reach into the pocket of his shirt. As a specialist, there were many things he had to hide for the security of data.
That special shirt-who would have thought-turned out to have another use to hide the sacred USB that could incriminate the former scoundrel husband to be imprisoned forever. If only that case were opened, then, other cases would follow as a domino effect from the deadly incident experienced by Lara and Mahya.
Unfortunately, those aspirations vanished when faced with the danger between life and death that they never expected.
In the chaos, Andre finally handed the USB to the man with glasses. A smirk appeared on his lips. He nodded to one of his companions and ordered him to check the contents of the USB. In a matter of seconds, a cable connected to the phone and they managed to verify that the USB did contain the important data they were looking for.
“Good. You really can be worked with.” The man with glasses lowered his gun, but… his henchmen behind him were still alert with the same demeanor, pointing their guns with the triggers already pulled towards the four of them.
In a tense situation, Andre and the others realized that their safety was still not guaranteed even though the USB had been handed over. They felt cornered by those scoundrels who still threatened with weapons. Andre tried to stay calm and think quickly.
“You’ve got what you wanted, now, leave! Let us go back home!” Andre shouted with eyes full of anger. He didn’t care if eventually Mahya’s case couldn’t be used as damning evidence to imprison Seno. Andre was now more focused on the safety of all of them. And, that meant, these scoundrels had to leave and disappear from their sight!
Lara pulled Andre’s shirt, as if signaling him not to speak loudly and provoke those dangerous people. Lara didn’t want any stray bullets to fly past her lover’s body.
“It’s okay,” Andre whispered after realizing that Lara was so frightened and didn’t want her to get hurt. The same thing was also considered by him. He didn’t want Lara to experience the unfortunate incidents like they had before.
“Leave?” It sounded more like a mockery, the man with glasses said. He put the USB that had just been given by Andre into his pocket. Proudly, he walked closer, circling the four standing almost side by side.
“Do you think we’ll leave that easily, hm?” he asked with a sneer. Andre really couldn’t stand it anymore.
Bugh!
He slammed his fist into the face of the man with glasses, and that truly became the cause of the next chaos.
“Bastard!” The man retaliated against Andre’s blow with another punch, and immediately, the calm, quiet, and tense area escalated into a chaotic battleground!
“Lara, take cover in the car!” Andre yelled before punching the man with glasses again, followed by the lawyer and their driver fighting against the other men.
“Hiyat!” The driver managed to lock the hands of the henchman with a pistol, and so did the lawyer, he also managed to knock down the firearm so it no longer posed a threat.
“Watch out!” Lara screamed when Andre was almost hit by another man. The brawl ensued quickly, accompanied by the sound of bodies colliding and shouts from all the men involved.
Lara tried to remain calm in the car, but she couldn’t hide her anxiety. She watched through the window, worried about the safety of Andre and the others.
Andre, although in a fighting situation, still tried to protect Lara. He moved quickly and agilely, avoiding the attacks of his opponents while trying to give others a chance to act. In the chaos, their survival instincts spoke, urging them to act quickly and efficiently.
“Bastard!” The man with glasses, although surprised by Andre’s sudden attack, didn’t give up so easily. He fought fiercely, trying to maintain control of the situation.
Meanwhile, his other henchmen tried to retrieve their fallen weapons, but the firearms had disappeared under the car and were so difficult to retrieve. “Damn it!”
In the midst of the chaos, quick action and team coordination were key to safely escaping from this situation. They communicated with gestures and looks, trying to figure out the next steps in the increasingly heated battle.
However, when Andre’s team was gaining the upper hand, one of the henchmen of the man with glasses saw a flash of light from the direction of the car’s tire. He immediately moved towards the reflection and realized that it came from the pistol that had fallen.
“I got it!” Immediately, he pulled the trigger of the gun and… BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Four hot bullets were successfully fired!
The fierce battle finally ended with… death.
