Intending to Humiliate Her

Rose and the man were only in a contractual marriage that would end when the time was up-he had heard it all outside the private room just now. It meant he still had a chance.

He did have a crush on Rose; it was since high school when she came to his house with Yvonne for the first time. However, she was too young at the time. He had been waiting for her to grow up. Little did he know that after he went abroad, she ended up being together with Nixon.

When he saw those messages from Maya in the high school alumni chat room that day, he didn't believe that Rose would be involved with another man.

He was sure something had happened. Hence, he left his work there and immediately came back. Even their encounter on the street that night wasn't a coincidence.

He heaved a long sigh. Since Rose and the man were just having a contractual marriage, he would wait for them to end it.

The next morning, Rose had just woken up when she received the message regarding the time and location of the gathering

Tonight at 10 pm, at Nightfall Lounge."

Seeing the words "Nightfall Lounge", her head buzzed and she instinctively wanted to refuse. However, the messages from those socialites kept popping

1. up.

"Rose, you better not bail on us. If you don't show up, we'll keep pestering you until you agree!*NôvelDrama.Org © content.

All these socialites were connected to various businesses in Aquastead, and some even had collaborations with Celeste Jewels.

In the future, when she took over Celeste Jewels, she would inevitably cross paths with them. After considering it, she sent a few words. "I'll be there on time."

At 10:00 PM, Rose arrived at Nightfall Lounge punctually. As she entered the

bar, the socialites who had been waiting for her spotted her immediately. Mandy Walts greeted her with excitement.

"Rose, you're finally here! We thought you might chicken out and not come."

Afterward, she pulled Rose to their served booth in Section A. The booth was filled with the so-called toxic friends, most of whom Rose hadn't seen in a long time. However, a person stood out-Maya was here too. Rose instantly realized that this gathering was a trap, but it was too late to leave now.

"Rose, you're so unexciting. You didn't tell us about your marriage; we only found out from Maya. Come on, let's have a shot!"

"One shot! One shot!"

The

socialites were all joining in to force her to drink a forfeit. Rose smirked. She had to respond accordingly to their strong menace. She poured herself a drink and downed it in one shot.

After the three shots from Rose, Maya's eyes flashed with malice amid the crowd's encouragement.

She chuckled and said, "Rose, everyone insisted on celebrating for you. They even suggested earlier that we bring all the hosts to celebrate for you. Rose, you're someone!"

Amanda grabbed a microphone from somewhere and loudly announced, " Come over here, all the handsome guys. Tonight, we're celebrating our good friend, Rose's marriage. We've ordered the most expensive drinks in the bar. Whoever comes to serve us will get a commission!"

Soon, all the hosts swarmed in. While the bar did have private rooms, they had intentionally chosen a booth today so that everyone could see them.

Rose looked at Maya. She wasn't sure if this group of toxic friends knew about the identity of her star escort husband.

Nevertheless, she could tell that Maya had some malicious intent tonight-she wanted to humiliate her!

Her lips curved with a hint of amusement as she said, "The drinks at Nightfall Lounge are quite expensive. With so many gentlemen here, each of them

deserves a commission. So, how much should we order?"

"You don't have to worry about that. We'll pay for the bill," Amanda said.

Indeed, she came from a wealthy family, and so did the other socialites. They never lacked money. However, Maya was much more financially strained compared to them.

Hence, Rose wanted to make her spend to humiliate her.

She played innocent as she said, "But Maya was the one who brought up the gathering, wasn't she? She must have chosen this place herself. According to our rules, the person who organized the gathering should pay the bill. We can't break the rule, can we?"

Maya's face stiffened.

Rose could see right through her as she asked, "Are you unable to afford it?"

Maya's family relied on Celeste Jewels and Jamie for their livelihood. They had deep-seated feelings of inferiority and vanity.

Hence, Maya couldn't admit she couldn't afford it, especially in front of these socialites.

As Rose had expected, Maya raised her chin and said, "Why wouldn't I be able to afford it? I'll cover all the expenses tonight." Inside, she was bleeding. She was determined to make Rose pay for it tonight.
