Lying next to him
Well, what is she doing in that location in the first place? Jenica sighed and looked at Jared.
She knew HQ’s notorious enemy Jared was still in his mid-20s but she wasn’t expecting him to be this young looking.
Jenica closed her eyes and shook her head. “Since the guard won’t let me in, then I won’t push my luck.” She looked straight into Jared’s eyes and smiled. “Thanks anyway,” she said before walking towards her car parked not far away.
Jenica could feel Jared’s hot gaze behind her but she didn’t turn around or even stop. She hopped in the car and drove it away in an instant. She took a glimpse of Jared’s lean appearance in the rearview mirror and the man just stay rooted on the ground.
She heaved a sigh of relief and slowly turned the steering wheel.
Jenica had almost blown her cover! It’s a good thing Jared didn’t recognize her. He might think that she’s familiar but she believe he won’t know her as Agent J in an instant.
Whenever she was in a mission as Agent J, she always wore a voice changer device, contact lenses, and a wig. And right now, she’s not wearing anything but her bare face.
She’s Jenica Laurel, the hidden wife of Alexander Fuego.
Still, it’s not safe to assume that Jared won’t ever notice. It’s good to be cautious against that man.
So she immediately reached for the phone and called her assistant. “Let someone impersonate me and make her appear somewhere in the States for a mission. Make sure Jared’s men will know but don’t be too obvious.”
“Roger that.”
And she ended the call. But after two minutes, someone called her number. Jenica cast her gaze down at the her phone’s screen and raised her eyebrows.
“What do you want?” she asked, annoyed, on the other line after she accepted the call.
A man breathed from the other line and after a few seconds, he questioned, “Didn’t you ask me to come pick you up? But you are not here. Are you playing tricks, wife?”
Jenica frowned and sighed when she remembered what she had asked for Renato, Alex’s assistant, to do. The corner of her lips curled up and she chuckled softly. “Alright. Wait for me,” she said and ended the call without waiting for what Alex had to say.
The car stopped at a coffee shop and Jenica went in to have a coffee. She also stayed inside for about an hour before she decided to return to the hotel where she was staying.
Alex, with his gloomy face, was waiting for her inside the hotel room. He was sitting on the sofa and holding a glass of wine, looking a bit tipsy.
“Where have you been?” he asked with a cold voice.
Jenica smiled crudely. Alex sounded like a wife nagging her husband for coming home late. She sighed and shook her head, closing her eyes before looking away. “It’s none of your business,” she said heartlessly.
“I’ve been waiting for an hour just to hear you sneering at me.” Alex stood with his face still dark and took a step closer to her. He stopped in front of her and towered the helpless Jenica. “Do you think I won’t punish you?” he asked, a cruel smile appeared on his lips.
Jenica raised an eyebrow at his words and folded her arms. Curling the corner of her lips, she asked playfully, “How?”
Alex’s eyes narrowed and instantly lifted her, throwing her onto the huge and soft bed.
“Oh!” she yelled in shock and looked up with widened eyes. “What the hell are you doing?” she asked, annoyed, and adjusted the deviated strap of her bra.
How ungentlemanly of him to throw her like a piece of crap!
“Do you think you’re still a maiden to fool around? Jenica Laurel Fuego, you seem to forget that you are my wife!” Alex said. His brow creased as he stood at the foot of the bed and stared intently at her.
Jenica frowned, annoyed by his tone. “Are you seriously lecturing me right now? Why don’t you say that to yourself, you who has a fiancee? Or do you think you’re still a bachelor all these years chasing after women and neglecting the fact that you have a wife ?”
“My wife who ran away?” he sneered. “Don’t push the blame on me, Jenica. It’s you who did wrong in the first place!”
“At least I’ve been keeping myself chase for the past five years! But look at what have you done? You are getting married!”
“It’s just a fake engagement!”
The room was silent. Jenica looked at him, confused. “What did you say?”
“It’s not within my plan to marry Gia Antonete. A few months later, I’ll end this engagement,” Alex said slowly and he sighed. “I didn’t tell you because I want to know what you’ll do but I was wrong to trust your feelings for me, Jenica.”
“My feelings for you?” she sneered. If she hasn’t seen this bastard and Gia’s picture in the outskirts, she might believe him right now. “To think that you enjoy that woman’s company is a proof that you have the guts to find another woman. Mr. Fuego, don’t make me laugh.”
“Jenica Laurel!”
“Why are you shouting?” she yelled back.
Alex went silent and he sighed eventually in defeat. “I’ll cancel the engagement later,” he said before sitting back on the sofa and gulped a mouthful of wine.
Jenica was left speechless and confused. She thought Alex would yell at her back but he went silent instead. She felt like punching a bag of cotton. Jenica was dissatisfied but there was nothing she could do about it.
She frowned at the man. “What are you doing inside my room anyway?” she asked, glancing at his way.
“Didn’t you ask me to come pick you up? We’ll move out after you pack your things.”
Jenica’s fist clenched but she quietly went to her own room to pack. In the end, she only brought one backpack.
Alex raised his eyebrows when he saw what she was carrying but he didn’t question her, and just guided her out of the room although it was unnecessary. Jenica just rolled her eyes and let him be.
“Let’s have a dinner first,” Alex said before taking her to a restaurant near the hotel.
Even though she felt indignant, Jenica was too hungry to refuse. She just saw herself eating at the restaurant with the man.
After the short dinner, Alex took her to the subdivision she visited to earlier. The car stopped at a large house with a high gate.
‘Nothing’s changed,’ she thought to herself before getting out of the car.
Jenica secretly looked around and her gaze stopped at the large house that was only a few blocks away from Alex’s house.
There, she saw Jared grinning at her.
When they both looked at each other, the man waved as if they were friends.
Alex scowled when he saw her looking at his neighbor. “What? Is he your new target?” he asked, mocking her.
“F*ck you,” Jenica cursed and took big steps to enter the open gate.
“On the bed later,” Alex answered back and followed her inside the big house.
Jenica secretly sighed upon entering the house. It’s as if she never left because the interior design hasn’t changed. And what’s even more surprising is the big wedding photo of her and Alex hanging on the living room wall.
It was taken five years ago after the secret wedding of her and Alex. She was the one who put that wedding photo on the wall and she remembered that Alex’s face was so blank while staring at the wedding photo.
Well, who’s going to be happy with how sick he looked in the picture? But surprisingly, Jenica found it still hanging in the exact location before. Didn’t Alex dislike that picture?
“Guide her to her new room,” Alex said to the housemaid standing silently on the side.
Jenica knew the ins and outs of that house but because she wanted to get away from the man for a while, she followed the maid. She raised her eyebrows when the maid led her to the master’s bedroom.
“What are you doing?” Jenica asked with folded arms. “I don’t have time for jokes.”
The maid turned to her, and sneered. “Miss, Sir Alex wants me to bring you here. Don’t complain. A lot of women want to enter Sir Alex’s room but you’re the lucky one.”
“Oh.” Jenica chuckled and asked, “Just like you?”Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
The maid’s cheeks reddened at her words and Jenica sneered back. She had noticed the woman’s bitter look for a while and she was annoyed. That damn husband of hers loves to attract bees.
Jenica entered the room and frowned once again, raising a brow. The inside looked too manly for her taste although she got no problem with it. But why will she stay in his room?
Suddenly the door opened and Alex stepped inside. A small smile was on his lips. “Are you satisfied?” he asked.
“Excuse me?” She dropped the backpack at the foot of the bed and roamed her gaze around. “It looks spacious enough but I don’t see any signs you’ve prepared this room for me.”
Alex blinked and laughed a little. “I’ll let someone fetch women’s product. Anyway, it will be your room from now on,” he said with a smile.
Jenica raised her eyebrows. She knew that it was Alex’s room but she didn’t mind it at all since they’re basically a husband and a wife. She stepped towards the wardrobe and she saw Alex’s expensive clothes. There wasn’t even one women’s pajama.
She looked at him disdainfully and Alex was quite flustered. “I’ll go take one for you,” he said as he left the room.
Jenica squinted and immediately scanned the whole room. There are no hidden cameras inside. Well, that’s a relief. She walked to the bathroom and took a bath.
She was startled when someone knocked. Remembering Alex, she sighed and reached for the door, opening it a little. “What?” she asked.
Alex could see the water droplets dripping down the woman’s body. It was covered with a towel and her face was blushing because of the hot bath. The steam coming from the inside was hiding the woman’s waist down her legs and it gave a kind of allure that he was trying hard to ignore.
Alex handed her the paperbag. “Here, use this.” Then he turned around, walking stiffly away.
Jenica looked at what he handed to her. It was an expensive nightgown that she once wore while staying in that house five years ago. Since she got no other choice, she reluctantly wore that nightgown. As Alex said, she had grown over the years. The fabric hugged her body so tight and one could see her right curves and healthy bre*st. Jenica shook her head and stepped outside the bathroom.
She saw Alex sitting on the bed reading a business magazine. She knew that the man was reading an article about his and Gia’s engagement.
Ah look at that hypocrite. If not for finding Gia’s secret and moving close to Jared, she would not dare stay in the same room as him. She was just annoyed while remembering what her husband was doing.
And she could not use her position as his wife because she was the one who did wrong in the first place. This man knew how to guilt trip her! And it’s frustrating that five years had passed, yet her feelings for him would always surface whenever he’s around.
“What are you standing there in a daze? Come over,” he said. He lowered the magazine and looked at her with a meaningful smile on his lips. Jenica clenched her fist.
‘Stop it, Jenica! He’s the reason why you fled and lost your firstborn! Don’t fall for his tricks!’ she reminded herself.
Jenica took a deep breath and stepped closer to the bed. She looked at Alex for a moment before lying down on the other side with her back to the man.
She was surprised when someone hugged her from behind.
“Wife, I miss you,” Alex whispered. His hot breath was tickling her ears.
Jenica’s cheeks reddened. She knew what the man was implying.
