Chapter 36 Silence Begotten Rage
The unknown stranger looked at her milky- finest skin color and wondered if she belonged to him. He then studied her stylish long and sleek dark ponytail hair and thought the same thing. Her lip was pink as the lip of a sea shell. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he wouldn’t have believed it if he was told a lady could be this beautiful.
As for the navy blue dress she had opted for as well. The colour blinded well with her as it seemed like it was sow mainly for her. She was indeed a perfect, unbeatable beauty among all ladies he has come across in his life.
He hadn’t intended to stop if not for his horse. Now all thanks to his horse that he is witnessing a goddess of beauty sitting under the shade, while trying to avoid his gaze.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Yes the horse is mine” Suk resisted the temptation to throw a glance at the gorgeous man standing in front of her.
The stranger’s solid jaw and dark brown eyes as if protected from sun bleaching, removed the veil covering her self control as she couldn’t help it again but finally glanced at the man. She delicately tucked a strand of hair back behind the rest as her eyes met the stranger. Her heart thudded in her chest as she stared at him. What is happening to her?. Why is her heart beating loudly?. She subconsciously places a hand on her chest.
The light of the setting sun dances between her smooth and slender figure. She wriggled on her seat and stared at the man standing in front of her, accessing him from head to toe. He wore a black mid knee shirt coupled with a black trouser. His hair was combed back and tied with a hair tie, letting the hair on the back of his head hang. He tied a headband around his forehead.
“Excuse me” he nodded beside her.
Before She could process anything, the man already sat down beside her. She shifts uncomfortably beside him. This is her first time sitting very close with a man other than her family, which is her father and brother. Her lover Yeong ho is the only one who she has sat this close with again. Shuffling herself sideways in a feeble attempt to move her slender body away from him. It’s not like he irritates her or anything, in fact she feels like she wasn’t worth sitting beside him because of the heavy aura emitting from him. It sure that the man isn’t a common person but from a noble family.
Noticing her discomfort, the man took a deep breath and said, “I will go my way once Haneul done feeding”
Haneul?. That must be the stallion name. The white horse was having fun with Ryu as they both played in the pasture field. They seemed comfortable with each other as if they’d known each other before. It still remains a mystery for her how Ryu was quickly able to relax with the stallion.
“This is the first time Haneul admires a mare.” The man said. Her gaze drifted from her and darted to the two horses playing in the field.
Haneul isn’t the type that believes in any other horse’s capability other than himself but seeing him carefree playing with the black mare still remains a surprise for his master. Seemed like the horse both have the pride of believing in themselves only.
Ryu had been with Suk for a long time. She had been trained to saddle and bridle since she was a filly.
“It looks like your horse is one special creature for Haneul to notice her,” the man added.
Suk kept following how his lip moved. Surprisingly the man’s cherry red lip is so watering that she felt her throat dry and suddenly she wished she could crush her lip on his.
“Are you okay?”
The man asked when he darted his eyes back to the lady beside him and found her licking her lip while staring at his own mouth. Seeing her wet lip from her saliva, he wished it was his own saliva that licked the lip in front of him. He just didn’t understand what was happening to himself. Before he lost control he quickly called himself back and turned away from her.
Embarrassed that the strange man caught her drooling on him. Suk facepalm her cheek to cover the red blush flushing up on her cheek and smiles lightly.
They both kept quiet and stared at the cool weather which surfaced as a result of the sun setting and the withering plant flipping gently in the air. The cool breeze caressed her face as they enjoyed the beautiful weather.
“What is the mare name”
“Ryu” was the short reply from Suk.
Ryu that such a odd name for a horse of such power. Looking at the mare in front him, he could certainly say that if she and haneul where to go on a run. They would get back safely which none of the mares that compete with Haneul had ever achieved. Didn’t Ryu mean slender and graceful but the horse in front of him isn’t anywhere next to slender.
“What is your name if I may ask?” Suk asked slowly.
The man beside her looked at her at her questions and chuckled softly. Their gaze locked. What funny?. Suk wonders mentally and makes sure not to break eye contact. It is if they are in a competition and none of them is willing to back down. The man finally breaks eye contact and stares away in the other direction.
“I can’t tell a stranger my name,” he replied.
Suk laughed lightly. If they are talking about a stranger, then it is entirely clear that he is the stranger here but wait what is she even asking. She hasn’t asked the important question she was supposed to. How did this man even get here? What is he doing here?.
“You are a stranger. It’s not like you are welcome here anyway” she scoffed, eying him with annoyance.
She couldn’t miss the lifelessness in his eyes as he returned his eyes back to her face. Without a word he gently stood up dusting his clothes along the way. Suk looked at him wearily, awaiting what he got to do but the man just headed toward the direction of the field.
When he reached the two horses, he gripped the two ropes around Haneul’s neck and led him toward the lake water. The horse dive in and drink to his satisfaction. After he is done, his master leads him back to Suk and unties his rope from the tree. Ryu notices her playmate will soon be going and she quickly walked over to them. They both bid their farewell by nudging each other with their muzzle.
The strange man gripped the saddle and hauled himself up effortlessly. The way he climbed the horse shows he is an expert in the field. He glared at the lady staring at him in surprise. He picked up the rope around haneul neck and kicked him cautiously with his boot. Haneul’s ear went up and obeying his master he took off immediately, riding faster than when he first arrived. Suk stared at the direction the man went to until they were out of her sight.
What the hell was that?. How dare that man. She had never been embarrassed as she was today. She can’t believe a mere noble young man disrespecting a princess like her with a mere silence, but wait he didn’t even know if the man is from a noble family or a royal family of another country.
She doesn’t even care if he is or not. And what frustrated her more is the fact that the silence affected her. She bite her lip to suppress her anger but that didn’t help. She yelled in fury toward the direction he rode to as if her scream would reach him.
She better return to the palace, beside it already darkened out here. She moved closer to Ryu who was also staring at the direction Haneul rode to. She moved closer to her, lifted a foot and stabbed it at the stirrup, missing the first time. She hissed angrily and tried again which she got and hauled herself at Ryu back. She gripped the two ropes around Ryu’s neck and kicked her off. She rode toward the direction they came from. She kept hitting her horse for more speed.
As the horse rode, so did the memory of how the strange man snub her flash into her head. That bastard. The rest of the journey to the palace was filled with anger from Suk toward the man.
