One-eyed monster
Rebecca doesn’t feel comfortable after hearing the man’s name. Besides, he looked familiar for her as if she already seen him before and she just couldn’t remember. Perhaps he was one of those workers at their farm, but she wasn’t sure because his face doesn’t match.
“Why are you staring at him, Milady? Do you know this man?” Kwan asked as he carried the boxes of things inside the mansion. Rebecca followed him, while Lando went to the porch.
“Anyways, he’s one of those workers who worked at your parents farm. Your father sent him here because he wants him to protect you, and also so that you won’t be lonely in this house anymore,” he explained.
“But I don’t need anyone, especially a man like him. No offense, but I’m not comfortable that he’s here, especially since I saw someone like him in that mall where we bought these things,” Rebecca told him.
“Oh, I forget to ask you if you’re okay,” Kwan replied. “Wen told me that she saw a lot of spies following you, but don’t worry, Lando wasn’t one of them because he was with me that time.”
“How can you trust him as quickly as that?” Rebecca asked as she sat down on the couch. “Have you gone mad, Kwan Moldrick?”
Wen Alison was just staring that them as she leaned on the couch opposite to Rebecca. She’s thinking why they are always having a couple discord if they will also apologize later.
“I hope you two will learn to understand each other before fighting for your nonesense stance. I really hate arguments-” Wen stood up and attempted to go out the living room.
“Where are you going single bunny girl?” Kwan asked. “Go back to your seat if you don’t want to die.” He warned like a monster. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
“What did you say Creepy One-Eyed Monster?” Wen looked back with a creppier looks as her red eyes glints like a demon.
Kwan stopped fixing the boxes of things from the floor and stood up to face his bestfriend’s rage, while Wen doesn’t act like a maid anymore, perhaps she’s tired of doing the things that Kwan wants her to do.
Meanwhile, Rebecca was sitting still on the couch while staring at the two having a cold war in front of her. She realized that it wasn’t just an ordinary maid-and-boss relationship that they have, they are more than that like they knew each other for a very long time.
“You might have forgotten who’s the boss here,” Kwan said as she stared directly at Wen’s face. His presence and glare reminds her his dominating aura.
The rage on Wen’s eyes gradually disappeared as she went back to the couch and sat down like she doesn’t care after all. She’s already used to her friend’s behaviour which is so dominating, but she has a creepiest secret that hurts her everyday.
“I don’t know how to deal with this feeling anymore. I know there’s not a single chance for you to consider this feelings. But I’m willing to endure all this pain for your happiness. I’ll be always here whenever you’d need me,” Wen soliloquised in a low voice.
“Are you saying something?” Kwan asked and stared at the woman who keeps leaning on the couch like she doesn’t care.
“I think Wen is just hungry. What if we’ll eat first before fixing these things?” Rebecca suggested as she stood up from the couch.
“Alright!” Kwan stood up and said, “I’ll just call Lando,” before he leave the living room and continued to the balcony where Lando seems to be having a conversation with someone in his phone.
Kwan heard a little part of their conversation, but he doesn’t know what he meant by saying, “I will finish what my master started.” He doesn’t have any bad thought about this, so he continued.
“Lands, let’s get inside to eat,” Kwan invited him.
Lando slipped his phone inside the pocket of his jeans and followed Kwan inside the dining room where Rebecca and Wen are sitting on the chairs beside the long table filled with delicious foods.
“Come on, help yourself!” Kwan said as he sat down beside Rebecca who also offered him some rice and fried frog with hot and spicy sauce.
Wen couldn’t help but became jealous when Rebecca feed Kwan with a spoon of food. She also want to do that with her best friend, but she never got a chance because he was always eating outside.
“Ahem!” Lando insinuated while trying to focus on his own plate.
Kwan looked at Wen and Lando and said, “You both should find someone to love too, so that you will have someone to take of you when you can’t take care of yourselves.”
Seeing his smile as if he really enjoys what he’s doing, such as teasing them for being single, Wen couldn’t help but stand up and walked out from the dining room. Then she continued to the balcony to get ventilated.
“What happened to Wen?” Rebecca asked. “She didn’t even touch her food. I thought she’s hungry after what happened.”
“Don’t sorry about her, Milady. She’s always like that, a grumpy bunny girl who walks out everytime she got teased.”
“Please excuse me, sir, ma’am,” Lando said as he stood up and put his plate in the sink. “I’ll go see to familiarize the complexities around the mansion.”
“Okay, but don’t touch anything you don’t know or you’ll die untimely,” Kwan warned in a serious tone which send shivers upon Lando’s bones.
“You’re really scary, my love.” Rebecca said as she put her arms around him and hold his shoulders. “But I’ll never regret my decisions to stay with you. I don’t care if my parents will be mad to me.” She looked directly into his brown eyes that shines brighter with her reflection.
“Then let’s set up our wedding. When and where do you want us to get married?” Kwan asked. “You said you don’t care about your parent’s decision anymore, but we still need them in our weeding, so don’t forget to invite them.”
“I want in a place like a mountain where I can breathe some fresh air for a new beginning. I want to forget those nightmares even just for a single day of our lives, so I hope you’ll consider my request,” Rebecca said.
“Don’t worry, Milady. I will set up our weeding in that kind of place as soon as possible, so you should start creating letters and invite the people you want to attend,” Kwan said.
“How about you, my love?” Rebecca asked. “Is there someone you want to attend our wedding? Do you have someone in your mind?”
“No really. The people I loved were already gone, and I can’t forgive the person who killed them, but there’s some people that I don’t want to be missing during our wedding, such as Wen and brother Damian.”
“Brother Damian? I didn’t know that you were so closed. I remembered those days when he was so annoyed because we keep playing around.” A sweet and rare smile appeared on Rebecca’s lips as she reminisces those memories.
Looking at his future wife first smile since she arrived at the Black Mansion, Kwan couldn’t resist but slowly push his face near hers and claimed her lips without her awareness.
“Aren’t you done here with your sweet talks yet?” Wen asked as she entered the dining room. “Don’t you really want me to have my lunch?”
