Chapter 19
Chapter 19
The warehouse was so smoky that people couldn't open their eyes. Emma stood there and waited as if
for a century before the familiar figure came out of the smoke.
She called Glenn's name in panic. The water poured by the man had been dried in the high
temperature, and the thick smoke made her choke to tears.
Finally, by the iron gate, she found Glenn fallen on the floor.
"Glenn, wake up! Don't scare me!"
Emma called Glenn's name, but she couldn't wake him up. She dragged him to a corner far away from
the flames that could devour everything.
In the dim fire light, the comatose man lay on her leg. His eyes which made her love and hate before
were tightly closed, and his lips were also closed hard. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Emma's fingertips trembled to caress Glenn's face. She left a kiss on his lip, and her breath became
harder.
Glenn, what you hate most in your life is me. But I actually didn't expect you to die with me.
If I didn't stay with you so obstinately, would there not be so many tragedies?
Glenn, if there's an afterlife, I hope we won't meet each other again.
...
Emma woke up in the sunshine, and saw Jamie's warm face.
"Jamie? You...I... how could I be here?" Asked Emma in surprise.
She was just about to get up, and found that her whole body was aching and her elbow was covered
with a thick bandage.
"Ouch..." Emma groaned.
"Don't move. And be careful of the wound." Jamie moved forward to held Emma's body. He smiled
gently.
It took Emma a long time to react. She blinked, "Am I still alive?"
Jamie shaved her nose intimately, nodded with a smile.
He said, "It was almost impossible for you to be alive. Thank goodness, you finally wake up!"
Emma smiled sheepishly. At this moment, she didn't think much about the meaning of Jamie's action.
She stared at Jamie with her bright eyes and said, "Did the firemen come last? Are all the people in the
hospital ok?"
Hearing this, Jamie's eyes darkened, but he quickly covered it up and said in a light tone.
"It's too late to wait for the firemen. When I found you in the hospital, you were in a coma."
Emma said sincerely, "Thank you, Jamie."
Jamie touched her hair and said, "You silly girl, you never need to say thank you to me."
Emma suddenly recalled Glenn, who was lying with her before she fell into a coma.
How's he?
Thinking of this, she asked with a little nervous. "Are there any other casualties in the hospital?" She
looked hesitantly at Jamie and asked in a indirect way.
"I don't know. I sent you to this hospital after I found you. This is a private sanatorium in the United
States. It's very suitable for recuperation." Said Jamie vaguely.
Without finding further information from Jamie, Emma sighed without trace and asked, "Did you see
anyone else when you found me?"
"Just was right next to me." She added at the end.
Jamie seemed to see through everything and looked at her, which made Emma a little guilty.
"Forget it, the smoke was so heavy, maybe you..." Emma said.
"Do you mean your ex-husband?"
...
Emma took a furtive look at Jamie and said tentatively, "Aren't you angry?"
Jamie laughed, "if I really want to be angry, 80 times a day is not enough."
After saying this, his smiled bitterly.
"Emma, is he the only person you love, no matter what I do?"
Emma quickly waved her hand, "no, it's not..."
"You don't have to say much." Jamie interrupted her and looked at Emma so gently.
"I love you, but I'm not selfish. When I found you, I saw you only. Maybe Glenn had woken up and left
alone."
Jamie seemed to be a little angry. Emma didn't dare to talk about this question any more. She stuffed
herself into the quilt and said, "I see."
Jamie's eyes flashed a fierce look, but his expression was opposite. He raised his hand and gently
tidied the corner of the quilt, saying in a proper voice, "this sanatorium is one of my industries, and you
don't need to concern about privacy. Take good care of yourself. I'll help you keep an eye on Glenn."
Then he left after saying.
Emma stretched out half her head. She looked around to make sure there was no one in the ward, and
then stared at her arm with bandage.
Why do I miss Glenn again? She thought.
The life in the sanatorium was very leisurely, because it was a place built for the rich to entertain, so it
was private.
There was a big yard in front of the gate. And there was a big circle of rose flowers along the fence.
The branches and leaves were dense enough. People could hardly see anything in the yard from
outside.
Emma's daily life was to see the flowers and watered them.
Jamie was afraid that she would be bored and gave her a little golden puppy on the third day. And he
also brought the news about Glenn.
Glenn had been saved by his bodyguards earlier than Emma, and he was in the hospital.
Emma was shocked when she heard the news, and then she laughed at herself.
This was what exactly his subordinates would do. She had been the laughingstock after all.
Glenn didn't cherish her, so everyone dared to bully her.
It was no surprising that they didn't save her.
But when she heard that Glenn was still alive, she was greatly relieved. It was true that she wanted to
kill him at the beginning, but it was also true that she wanted him to be alive.
As for the mess in the bottom of her heart, she'd better leave it in the corner and let it go.
...
It was at a senior intensive care unit in the Us.
Glenn opened his eyes for the first time after three days in a coma.
His fingers were covered with a thick bandage. They were scalded when he tried to pry up the door
handle.
When his subordinates found him, the flames had spread onto his body. If they didn't rescue him in
time, he would have been severe burned all over.
And the fingers...the doctor said that it would be scarred.
In the future, the wound may be allergic because of high temperature.
But these were not the concerns of Glenn at this time. As soon as he opened his eyes, he called
several subordinates who saved him that day and asked about Emma's whereabouts one by one.
