Chapter 40 His dignity (1)
I looked at Vince, smiling happily.
After leaving the hotel, he walked me over to the house downtown. The inside of the room was clean and tidy. It seemed that someone cleaned it regularly.
Vince gave me the house's keys. He said he had more work to do at the office, so he left. Before he went, he gave me a kiss.
Then I locked the door and took a cab home. Once I entered the room, I saw Zhiyu Yin slumped on the couch.
He suddenly stood up, took two steps forward, and hugged me in his arms.
"Nance, are you still mad at me?" After Zhiyu's voice rang behind my ear, I was a little confused that he spoke like that.
"Didn't I make myself clear the other day?" I thought. "Doesn't he understand what I meant when I told him the other day that we would never be together?"
I pushed him away and looked at him seriously. His eyelids were a little droopy, showing that he hadn't slept well in the past few days, and his chin beard wasn't shaved. He looked sad.
"Please leave my home now," I said. “Don't come to my home to see me."
My mother was standing by the side. When she heard this, she came up and scolded me, "Why are you so cruel to Zhiyu? After you cancel the engagement, his family becomes the laughingstock of Fu City."
I didn't want to bring up in front of my mom what Zhiyu had done to me. I married to Jerry and then got divorced, and it was he who caused it all. And I just got married to Vince now. I was his wife and should stay away from Zhiyu.
I didn't want to do too much explaining. I turned around and was just about to enter my room. Then I heard a loud noise behind me, I turned around and found Zhiyu on his knees.
I had underestimated his love for me. A tall man was kneeling in front of me in order to beg for my forgiveness. I had mixed emotions. He gave up his dignity and forced me to forgive him.
Mom told him to get up but he wouldn't listen. I also tried to pull him up, but he had to make me forgive him before he got up.
My mom was crying with anger at me, "Nance, even if Zhiyu has done something wrong, he has knelt down and prays for your forgiveness. So you just forgive him."
I let go of the hand that was tugging at him and said, "I won't forgive you."
Then I went straight into the room and shut the door heavily.
I was conflicted right now. I was hesitant to tell him about me and Vince getting married.
I thought about it for a long time, but
I was still not going to tell him about my marriage. He was a good friend of Qi Ouyang. If he knew that I was getting married, he may tell Qi Ouyang and then the people of Fu City would know I was married to Vince, so there would be no point in hiding my marriage from others.
Mom knocked on my door very hard and kept yelling at me. She said I shouldn't be so cruel to a good man like Zhiyu.
"Zhiyu is a good man?" I laughed bitterly. "Maybe I'm the bad woman to people now."
I went forward to open the door and Mom's hand almost hit me in the chest.
"Nance, I don't care why you have to punish Zhiyu like this. Since he came here to admit his mistake, you have to forgive him." mom lectured me harshly.
I looked at her quietly, glanced at Zhiyu with the corner of my eye, and reluctantly said, "Please get up. I forgive you."
As soon as Zhiyu heard this, he immediately got up, walked toward me and took my hand happily.
"Nance, I'll be good to you from now on." he said.
I struggled to pull my hand back from his and looked at him coldly, "I just forgive you. It doesn't mean I'll like you."
"I quite understand." Zhiyu smirked, "I'll pursue you again. As long as you give me the chance, you can do whatever you want to me."NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
It wasn't appropriate for me to be cruel to him now, so I just said indifferently, "Please leave here. I want to take a break."
"Fine, I'll leave." he said and then he waved at me happily. I guessed he was worried that if he stayed here he would annoy me even more, so he left
quickly.

"You are so heartless. Zhiyu is such a good man. You'll regret it one day if you hurt him like this." Mom scolded me again.
I was silent. Too much explanation would only make things worse.
"I'm going to move out of the house." I said to mom suddenly.
When Mom turned around, she looked at me, puzzled, "Why do you suddenly want to move out?"
"I can't stay at home forever. I need
to find a job and it's easier to work if I move out." I lied. I can't tell my mom that I would move to Vince's house.
The only perfect son-in-law she had in mind was Zhiyu, and she was probably to scold me again if I told her that I was already married to Vince. "When you and Zhiyu get married, you just move straight to Yin family." mom ordered me overbearingly. "Now you don't have to move out."
But I was rebellious by nature. She wouldn't let me move out, so I just move out secretly.
