Defying Fate: The Unstoppable Eileen

Chapter 312

After her moment in the spotlight, Eileen returned to her seat amidst the audience.

The award ceremony was winding down, drawing to a close after the grand announcement of the Best Actor.

As the crowd began to trickle out of the venue, Simon blinked and suddenly noticed that Eileen had vanished into thin air.

Turning to Lenwood, he inquired, "Hey Lenwood, have you seen Eileen?"

Lenwood scanned the area and replied, "Maybe she went backstage? She mentioned something about an interview after the show."

Just then, someone up front asked, "Where's Bblythe? Wasn't she going to join us for dinner? Has anyone seen her?"

Bblythe had been kidnapped.

Yes, in the chaos of the dispersing crowd, Eileen had seized her and followed Egbert to his dressing room, where she was now being held captive.novelbin

Eileen had commanded her to stay put on a chair in the corner, which Bblythe did, although she was clueless as to why. It didn't take long for her to find out.

The room suddenly erupted into a brawl!

"Bang!"

"Bang! Bang!"

"Thud!"

The sounds of a fierce fight echoed within the small confines of the room. Bblythe's head whipped back and forth, her eyes struggling to keep up with the two figures that were darting and leaping around the space in a violent tango.

Eileen, her gown knotted up to give her legs freedom, lashed out with a high-heeled kick straight at Egbert's stomach.

Egbert backpedaled, dodging her onslaught and steadying a clothes rack that nearly toppled over from Eileen's force.

The rack stood its ground, and Eileen, with fierce determination in her eyes, leaned forward, elbow aiming for Egbert's shoulder.

He caught her wrist, using her momentum to sidestep and then pirouetted behind her, raising his palm protectively over her head to shield her from the glass cabs above during their scuffle.

They fought with such ferocity, and Eileen had even armed herself with a weapon - her trophy, which she was now using to attack Egbert.

Bblythe watched in increasing panic, her ears catching the sound of knocking at the door on more than one occasion.

There were Egbert's assistants and Eileen's agent, and even the four leading ladies of the evening had stopped by, likely hoping to meet Egbert, but no one answered the door.

Bblythe felt overwhelmed. How was she going to explain this when she finally emerged?

Twenty minutes of turmoil later, Bblythe looked spent. Then, with a grunt, she saw Eileen finally bring Egbert down.

Their position was somewhat...compromising.

On the couch, Egbert lay underneath, with Eileen straddled across his waist, her eyes narrowed, her hands clutching his collar.

Egbert, seemingly resigned, let out a groan and relaxed, his hands now on her waist. He looked up at her and sighed, "Are you done being mad now?"

"Not even close!" Eileen tossed him back onto the couch and slid off him.

She stepped onto a nearby chair, undoing the knot in her gown. Her legs, once exposed, were now concealed as the fabric fell to her ankles. Egbert sat up, straightening his slightly disheveled shirt.

Without another glance at Egbert, Eileen stomped over to Bblythe, looping her arm through hers. "Come on, Bblythe, let's get out of here." Bblythe stood, trying to make peace. "Look, I get it, Mr. Reed can be a jerk, but you didn't have to beat him to dead. Half-dead would've sufficed." Eileen and Egbert could only exchange awkward glances.

Egbert looked at Bblythe, who shrugged awkwardly, "It's not my fault. If my boyfriend said something so ambiguous in public, I'd hit him too, let alone you who's not even a...you know."

"Exactly!" Eileen chimed in. "You can't tolerate that kind of boyfriend!"

Bblythe and Egbert fell silent once more.

Egbert looked down, a chuckle escaping him.

Bblythe, with a perplexed face, turned to Eileen, "Why do you talk like Mr. Reed is your boyfriend?"

Eileen was taken aback, quickly denying, "No! That's not true! I don't have a boyfriend! Don't put words in my mouth!"

Bblythe sighed again, "Alright, whatever. Just so you know, your agent came knocking earlier. She might give you an earful later."

Eileen brushed it off, "It's fine. She doesn't know I was here. She won't yell at me."

Minutes later, in the interview lounge, Ophelia was giving Eileen a piece of her mind.

"Everyone saw you go into Egbert's dressing room, Eileen! Can you not give me a heart attack? I've aged a decade just representing you for a year! Are you trying to suck the life out of me?"

Eileen shrank back, attempting to defend herself, "But Egbert, he..."

"Stop talking about Egbert. I'm not his agent, I'm yours! Who am I supposed to blame when things go south? You!"

Eileen murmured a weak protest, "That seems so unfair..."

Ophelia roared back, "And whose fault is that? Who told you to get so close with him?"

Eileen clammed up, fearing that if she said any more, Ophelia might discover her secret romance with Egbert and devour her on the spot. She regretted not admitting to their relationship when Ophelia first suspected them. Now, it was too late.

A knock at the door interrupted them. Ophelia, tempering her rage, went to answer it.

It was the interview crew from the video streaming service, ready for Eileen's fifteen-minute solo spot.

After the interview, Eileen stepped out to find Ophelia waiting for her in the hallway, while Egbert was talking with someone not too far away.

As she emerged, she caught his gaze drifting her way, Eileen's eyes met Egbert's in return.

After Ophelia shook hands with the interviewer, she turned around only to catch Eileen batting her eyelashes at Egbert. She snapped, "Keep staring and I'll gouge those eyeballs out!"

Eileen just blinked, speechless. She sheepishly diverted her gaze back to Ophelia.

With a stern voice, Ophelia commanded, "Let's go."

Eileen obediently followed, but Ophelia only took a few steps before stopping and turning back to ask, "Where's your trophy?" Eileen was startled. She looked at her empty hands and then back at the equally empty green room. Yeah, where was her trophy? Egbert, who was not too far away, approached them, having overheard their conversation. "It's with me," he said as he got closer. Eileen remembered she probably left the trophy with him and said hastily, "I'll go get it!"

She was about to dash off when Egbert gently pulled her back. "No worries, I'll drop it off in your room later," he assured her. Eileen just stood there, dumbfounded.

Ophelia was silent for an uncomfortably long time before she turned her head stiffly to look at Eileen.

Eileen panicked a bit but quickly whispered in defense, "Neighbors, we're just neighbors..."

Ophelia's fist clenched as she ground out, "Neighbors... get to enter... your room?"

Eileen, with a sorrowful gesture towards Egbert, said, "He's a shameless neighbor!"
