Chapter 35
With a heavy mind, Maja hopped into her car and arrived at Raymond Mansion twenty minutes later.
The servant who opened the door seemed annoyed by her presence. “Ms. Pennyfeather, you again?
Ms. Casson isn’t here.”
Glancing around the empty hall, Maja wanted to inquire about lan, but the servant had turned away
dismissively. Selena Casson’s displeasure with her visits had spread to the household staff.
“Has anyone been here?” Just then, a young girl appeared at the garden gate, chuckling. There was no
malice in her eyes, just pure curiosity. “Is she the new nanny? She’s kind of cute.”
The servant snorted and laughed, showing a hint of disdain in her eyes. However, Maja remained
unruffled and calmly replied, “No, the household staff all wear uniforms. I’m here to see Mr. Raymond.”
Maja’s calm and collected attitude gave the impression that she had no cares in the world.
Realizing that she had asked a foolish question, the young girl quickly apologized, “I’m sorry, I wasn’t
paying attention. He left half an hour ago.”
Maja glanced at the young girl, Connie Raymond, and smiled; “Thank you for letting me know.”
Noticing that Maja seemed preoccupied, Connie felt a tinge of guilt for the earlier misunderstanding and
added, “He probably went to a meeting at the Raymond Group. I overheard him on the phone, and it
seemed like he squeezed it into his schedule.”
As Connie finished speaking, she looked at the servant with a frown and scolded, “She’s a guest, why
haven’t you even offered her a cup of coffee? Show some manners.” The servant’s lips tightened as
she was about to retort, but Maja Intervened, saying, “It’s fine.”
The servant sighed in relief, encouraged by Maja’s support, and said, “You see, Ms. Raymond? She
said it’s fine.”
Connie’s expression darkened, and she addressed the servant, “You can go now.”
The servant was taken aback. Although the Raymond family paid well, losing this job was a concern.
She looked to Maja for help, but Maja remained silent. It wasn’t her decision to fire the servant; it rested
with the Raymond family.
Trembling and pale, the servant was led away by another staff member.
Turning back to Maja, Connie asked, “What’s your relationship with lan?”
“I’m his intérior designer.”
“I see for the Greenfield Gardens project, right? We’ve all been curious about you. Being chosen by my Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
cousin, you must be something.”
Connie seemed excited as she took a few steps closer and introduced herself, “My name’s Connie, I’m
nineteen. It’s quite impressive that you look about my age,.”
As a sheltered princess living in an ivory tower, Connie didn’t consider why an interior designer would
visit Raymond Mansion. Even if it was for business, they should be meeting at Raymond Tower..
Maja gave a slight smile. Although she hadn’t appeared in the Raymond family circle, she was
constantly present in their conversations.
Curious about Maja, Connie pulled her to sit down and said, “I have a friend who has been wanting to
meet you. Do you have time? They have a few houses they would like you to look at.”
Maja was surprised by the request, considering she was committed to working for Mr. Raymond. She
shook her head with a smile.
“Ms. Raymond, I’m afraid I can’t take any other orders while I’m working for Mr. Raymond. If your friend
requires assistance, they can consult my colleagues.”
“I see,” Connie replied, sounding a bit disappointed. However, her eyes quickly lit up again, and she
said, “If you can design, you can definitely draw, right? Follow me.”
Without hesitation, Connie grabbed Maja’s hand and led her upstairs. Connie had been staying at
Raymond Mansion for the past few days as it was close to where she and her friends planned to
sketch.
“I’ve been pondering over this painting all afternoon. Can you help me? Is there anything that needs
changing?”
Connie grimaced. “I was planning to ask lan for advice, but he didn’t seem in a good mood. I didn’t
want to bother him. I heard he had a meeting with his wife, but she stood him up?”
