Chapter 435 Argue With Me More
Dominic suddenly said, "If you're feeling stuffy and bored, you can ask Carla to go out with you.
"You should avoid crowded places as there are too many people and there's a higher chance for something to go wrong. Also, you must come home after two hours."
Bella raised an eyebrow at him. Those uncrowded kinds of places he was referring to weren't affordable for most people and were very expensive. She did not have that type of money to spend. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
"I'm just a normal citizen, so it's more suitable for me to go to such places. I can't really understand the spending habits of rich people like you."
Dominic shot her a warning glance. "Don't nitpick my words just to argue with me. I've given Carla my card. You can use it however you like."
For some reason, ever since Bella had become pregnant, she seemed to develop a rebellious streak. The more Dominic disliked her arguing with him, the more she wanted to do it.
She lazily stirred her bowl of oatmeal and said casually, "Dominic, in your eyes, there's nothing that money can't solve. You think that you'll be able to move people and mountains by giving them money."
He didn't bother arguing with her but retorted, "That's not entirely true. I gave you money, but you still refuse to get back together with me."
Bella treated their exchange as an appetizer before breakfast, and it actually piqued her appetite as she ate half a bowl more than usual.
Dominic had been observing her throughout breakfast and remarked with a hint of amusement, "You don't usually have an appetite. Is it because no one is here to argue with you?"
Bella humored him and said, "Probably. If you have time, you should argue with me more often. It'll boost my appetite, which will also be good for your child."
Dominic looked at her exasperatedly before picking up his coat and leaving the house.
Since he had already mentioned that she could head out, Bella did not want to stay cooped up at home either. She asked Carla to get ready and decided to go to one of the high-end, less-crowded places Dominic had suggested. Her main goal was to go shopping for her baby. She thought that spending his money for that purpose seemed much more justified.
Last time, her car had been
damaged in an accident. Dominic had been surprisingly considerate as he had someone deliver a new car known for its superb quality. While it wasn't as flashy or eye-catching as her pink sports car, it was practical and-most importantly-expensive.
Carla had insisted on driving and had Bella sit in the back seat. On the way, Carla was on high alert, scanning her surroundings. Just watching Carla drive made Bella tired.
Carla gave off a completely different
vibe than Cara. She seemed more
capable, almost like she could double as a bodyguard. Everything about her, from her expressions to her demeanor, carried a faint cofeiness.
Out of curiosity, Bella casually asked, "Carla, do you know things like martial arts or kickboxing?"
Carla responded matter-of-factly, "I won the national championship in kickboxing when I was younger. Now that I'm older, I'm not as active as I used to be."
Bella was at a loss for words. It seemed like a woman's intuition was never wrong.
They were currently heading to Fabled Tower. The bottom seven floors were packed with people, but the other floors were not. Once she was done shopping, she could even have some food at the restaurant.
It was her second time visiting the place, as her first time had been with Dominic. Now, she realized that the upper floors had two exclusive elevators that people could use to avoid the crowd.
The regular elevators for the lower floors did not even have access to the higher levels. It was just one of many entrances to the exclusive areas.
For someone like Dominic, staff would usually cater to him personally, as most people would know him.
Bella was also treated the same way during her visit, and it was all thanks to the viral interview video in which she had taken on the role of "Mrs. Miller". Hence, she was now widely recognized. She awkwardly accepted the privileges that Dominic's name brought her. Ultimately, she reckoned that it wasn't all that terrible.
After a short while of shopping, Carla started reminding her, "Mrs. Miller, you have an hour left."
