Chasing My Pregnant Wife

Chapter 1219

Theodore sighed. "Rest and recuperate well. I'll send someone to find your ex-boyfriend. When I do, I'll use mywork to make sure he sits in jail for a few years. I'm sure he's committed multiple crimes."

"Thank you. If you really manage to find him, putting him behind bars is enough. But what should I do before you find him? He could come to me anytime. He said he'll never set me free and will kill me. He looked like he had gone mad."

"I'll send someone to protect you. Don't worry."

"Theo, can I..."novelbin

"What?" Theodore could sense that Aurora had something to say. "Just speak your mind. Don't beat around the bush."

"Theo, I'm really scared. Can I stay with you before you find him? Don't worry, if you don't want me disturbing you, I won't. I'm just so scared to be by myself... I have nightmares when I sleep."

Afraid that he might misunderstand, Aurora hurriedly added, "Don't worry, once he's found and put behind bars, I'll move out immediately. I'm just so scared right now. Please, I'm begging you! Don't abandon me at a time like this."

Aurora wrapped herself up into a ball, her entire body wracked by sobs.

Theodore looked calmly at her. After a while, he finally said, "If it'll put you at ease, we'll do that. I'll find him as soon as I can. Rest well now, I need to go to the office."

With that, Theodore turned to leave.

Right now, he was like a zombie. He didn't want to think.

A few days later, Aurora was discharged and successfully shifted to Theodore's place. The servants prepared a room for her, right opposite his. At night, when Theodore reached home, Aurora welcomed him back. "Theo, you're back."

Aurora's face was still covered in bruises. When she saw him, she was all smiles and her eyes were bright, like a wife waiting for her husband to return home.

The sight of Aurora in his house stunned Theodore for a while, but then he remembered something and nodded. "Just tell the butler if you need anything."

"I know. Don't worry, I won't stay here for long. Once you find that horrible man and once he's behind bars, I'll move out."

"I'm still looking for him," Theodore said. "He's pretty good at hiding."

Theodore had thought that it would be easy to find the offending man, but he still found nothing after a few days. He wondered where that man could be hiding.

"He's no good. He's offended many

people. He's always hiding like a street rat, it's really hard to find him." Aurora went on, a tinge of ire in her voiced was blind in the past. I won't be such a fool from now on

"I'll have my men find him as soon as possible. Don't think so much. Let's head in." Theodore walked through the door.

Aurora's presence did bring Theodore some warmth and comfort.

Usually, when he reached home, all would be cold and quiet. His servants weren't family and he was ultimately the one only around, without anyone else he could talk to.

His parents were divorced and his grandmother was dead. Even his wife had left him.

He couldn't believe his life turned out like this.

When Aurora welcomed him home earlier, he mistakenly felt as though someone was waiting for him at home.

Reason reminded him that Aurora couldn't be that person. Although Grandma was dead and there was no proof pointing toward Aurora, it was confirmed that Angie was guilty. She even admitted it herself.

sw never

Angie was Aurora's cousin. The thought of that made it impossible for Theodore to treat Aurora the

same way he did in the past. He had erected an invisible barrier between them.
