Chapter 33
Gardner Group was on the verge of collapse. Not only did they fall from grace, but more than ten of Elysian Home’s physical stores in Solana City were now deserted.
Worst still, Jasper had decided not to help them out. If they did not come up with a solution soon, they would be done once the funding from Beckett Group ran out.
Meanwhile, Taylor Group won the public’s favor upon exposing the Gardners’ true colors.
After a long period of flying under the radar, KS World Hotel was finally gaining some attention.
“I’ve been doing as you asked. I’ve been keeping an eye on Michael ever since you tired him. As you’d expected, he has been in personal contact with Dylan. It happened not only once,” reported Sean.
Sean held Alyssa’s hand as he manicured her nails. He exclaimed, “Everything is unfolding just as you predicted. You totally hit the bullseye. You know what he was thinking.” Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
“He embezzled the hotel’s funding and conspired with Dylan behind our backs, I guess they have a deep bonding.” Alyssa smiled, relishing his manicure service.
Alyssa then declared, “Gardner Group will hold a press conference during the weekend. I’ll show you what it means by ‘a friend in need is a friend indeed.””
The new mattresses were delivered today. Excited, Alyssa checked on the quality with Sean.
“Ms. Alyssa, you don’t have to do this. The Housekeeping Department and I can handle It.” Sean persuaded her.
“I’m not a fragile doll. I’ve fired guns on battlefields. I’ve carried out hundreds of casualties and saved even more patients. So, tell me, how tiring can a quality check be?”
As soon as she finished, a trace of bitterness flashed in her eyes.
She recalled a past incident when she saved Jasper during a war in Luminara. He had been shot in the leg and shoulder, and despite his pleas for her to leave him, she insisted on staying by his side.
“Just leave me and go! I’m telling you to leave! Just go!”
“No! Even if you’re dying here, I will not abandon you! If I have to go, we have to go together!”
Alyssa was ment*lly prepared to meet her demise at that moment. Jasper was nearly 6’2 feet tall. With her strength alone, carrying him back to the safe zone would be impossible.
Alyssa believed that dying together signified their unwavering bond through thick and thin. She felt ready to face her demise without any regrets.
A bitter smile appeared on Alyssa’s lips as her heart throbbed with every beat.
Alyssa realized that Jasper had broken her heart and profoundly impacted her life. She questioned whether meeting such a charming person at a young age had been a mistake.
Alyssa and Sean walked to the unloading bay, where the employees unloaded the stocks.
The Director of the Housekeeping Department was even more Impressed as he saw Alyssa personally unloading the stocks.
With Sean’s help, Alyssa climbed onto the truck and unpacked one of the packages. She felt the material of the mattress and sat on it before expressing satisfaction.
“All good. Unload everything.”
Suddenly, a blue Lamborghini approached with a roaring engine.
The unloading bay was near the underground parking lot. So, luxury cars passing by weren’t uncommon. But it was different this time.

Landon held the steering wheel with his left hand. In his right hand was a lady.
Behind his sunglasses, he scanned the area and stumbled upon a pleasant surprise.
He caught sight of Alyssa helping the employees unload the mattresses.
As pretty as she was, she appeared dangerous, like a rose with thorns.
Even though she was now dressed as a career woman, it did not hide a smidgen of the sophisticated air around her. Instead, her outfit added the shrewdness of a mature woman.
Furthermore, her movements were confident and graceful. It was a far cry from the frail woman he had seen before.
As his interest in her grew, he smirked mischievously. “This country bumpkin is quite capable, isn’t she?”
