Beverly

Chapter 27

Clyde Dante

“Mr. Dante, do you want some?” Sean asked. Sean here asked me if I want salad and a tuna mayonnaise rice ball? He made it for Beverly and Beverly ate it with a big smile from her face because she freaking loves tuna.

“No.” I answered.

“Why bother asking him? I thought you’re making this all for me?” Beverly asked in a bitchy tone.

“Of course.” Sean asked and then he excused himself to go eat lunch.

“So you asked him to make you food?”

“Yeah, I kinda slept with him last weekend and told him if he wants more… he has to make my favorite food.” She answered as she munched. My hands turned into fists.

Suddenly my phone rang and it’s Anna, I sat across Beverly who was eating deliciously.

“Hey.”

“Hey babe, what are you doing?” I said and there’s no reaction from Beverly. She just kept eating.

“Going to work now. So have you eaten lunch?”

“Not yet, still have work to do.”

“You should eat… did you eat your breakfast?”

“Yes, I did.” I answered.

“Okay then… hey I have to go to work… I’ll call you later?” She asked.

“Yup sure.”

“Love you.”

“Love you too.” I said and there’s still no reaction from Beverly. Wait… why should look at her reaction? That’s stupid.

She kept eating her lunch without a word until Sean came back.

“This is so good.” She smiled at him and I got up from my seat. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

“Thanks… I’m glad that you like it.” Sean said as he sat beside her. He gave her one burger and he bought fries. I walked towards my work desk and began to work again.

Sean and Beverly began to talk, of course Beverly being Beverly… talkative. She and Sean talked about a lot of things and again that made me realize. With Beverly, there’s no limit. You can talk about everything and anything with her because she knows a lot of things. In one word… she’s smart. When I’m with Anna, she’s kinda plain. I was always the one who started the conversation and I’m the one who needs to come with a topic everytime.

Anna is a really picky eater so we basically eat the same time over and over again. It makes me want to puke but since I like her… I am still willing to do anything to make her happy. I sighed and put my pencil down… I listened to everything that Sean and Beverly talked about. They talked about the newest movie Black Panther and then she talked about how she loves tuna… and then she talked about how it is raining today… talked about Donald Trump… and then talked about how she’s interested to learn another language…

I hate to say this but… grandma was right. We all do miss her. She can brighten up the mood and how she can share a lot of things.

“Clyde… your food is here.” Vin said and I turned to him. He brought my McDonald. I sat on the table right across Beverly and Sean. Vin sat beside me and I started to eat my burger. I kept hearing about them talking and envy that Vin joined the talk. I kept glancing at Beverly and I found Sean looking at her with admiration in his eyes. It’s so clear that Sean likes her a lot. He’s acting like he’s some kind under a spell.

Now they’re talking about sharks… dolphins and then they talked about the movie grown ups and then they talked about how beautiful Montana is. I just keep silent all the time. I kept listening to everything that she said and… I just realized I miss listening to her chatty voice.

When we were in LA, I found her annoying because she’s too talkative but now I wish I can listen to her voice everyday. I closed my eyes and sighed.

I guess taking over this project is a bad idea for me. A really bad idea. I was going to torture her but I ended up torturing myself.

“Did you go to the doctor again?” Sean asked Beverly and that made me look up to her.

“No… I’ll just go next week.” That made me raise my eyebrows.

“Are you sick?” I asked and Beverly turned to Sean glaring at him.

“Mind your own business.” She said as she got up from her seat. She walked out with Sean following her.

“What happened to you both? Don’t tell me that she’s your ex.” Vin asked and I shook my head.

“No.” I said as I got up from my seat. I walked out from the room trying to find Beverly. I found her talking to Sean and then she hugged him. He patted his back. I hate seeing it. What does he know that I don’t know? Beverly doesn’t talk much about her life with me. She hated it when I asked her.

My grandma knows everything about her and I’m guessing that Sean knows something too and I know nothing. I know nothing.

I walked back inside the room and began to draw again. I kept drawing and drawing until I didn’t realize it’s time to go home.

I turned my watch and it’s 6 p. m, I turned around and still find Beverly drawing. Vin and Sean already went home.

“Go home.” I said to her as I got up. She stopped drawing and put her pencil down. She got up from her seat.

“You okay?” I asked her.

“Sean is being stupid, I’m not sick.” She answered.

“Fine… I won’t ask it again.” I said and then she nodded. She took her bag and walked towards the door. She got out of the room leaving me alone. I sighed and now… it’s time for me to go home. I walked towards the door and found a car key and an iPhone at the door. I picked it up and decided to bring it home.

I walked towards the lift and went down to the lobby. I walked out from the building and found Beverly walking instead of taking a cab or taking her car.

I wanted to call her but… I let her go because I think she needs time for herself.
