Chapter 365
"Cami, look at you, all bold and brave now. I was both shocked and proud of you today," Craig said to Camila with a smile. Camila laughed softly, "With you all as my rock, I'm fearless."
"Exactly, we're all here for you, nothing to fear," Craig nodded, beaming with pride.
Claire glanced at the dinner table and chuckled, "Looks like this meal is a no-go."
Cole looked at the messy table and couldn't help but laugh as well.
He clapped his hands and said with a burst of enthusiasm, "Let's hit a restaurant! It's time for a nice family dinner."
After dinner, Connor finished work and came to pick up Camila.
As she got into the car, a mysterious smile played on her lips.
Noticing her expression, Connor asked curiously, "You seem in a good mood?"novelbin
Instead of a direct answer, Camila winked mysteriously and teased, "Guess what happened."
"Did something good happen?" Connor inquired.
Thinking of cousin Craig's comical distress earlier, Camila couldn't help but laugh, "I smacked a pie right on someone's head today."
Connor's smile faded a bit as his eyes darkened with concern, "Who's giving you trouble?"
"Don't worry so much, no need for revenge," Camila said, blinking playfully at Connor. She continued, "It was just some trash talk, and I took care of it right there and then." Connor frowned slightly, barely noticeable, and asked softly, "What exactly happened?" Even though Camila said she had handled it, the fact that she felt slighted bothered him. Camila briefly explained the situation, and as Connor listened, his gaze turned steely. Someone dared to be rude to Camila, and he couldn't help being angry.
"But I'm really happy," Camila's eyes twinkled with joy.
"Why?" Connor was puzzled.
Camila smited and said, "Because it reminds me that I have family to protect me. You, mom, Cole, and Craig, you'd all stand by me when I need it. It makes me feel very secure and happy."
Connor's anger dissipated as he looked

"You silly girl," he murmured.
Back home, Camila noticed fresh food on the table and frowned slightly.

She turned to Connor, who had just come in, and chided softly, "You skipped dinner again."
Connor smiled faintly and headed to the washroom, casually saying, "Got caught up with work today."
Camila watched his retreating back, her eyes filled with concern.
Connor was a workaholic, often too busy to even eat properly.
She glared at him and exclaimed, "You can't just skip meals like this, it's bad for your health!"
"Do you really need to ask about my health?" Connor replied in a low voice.
As they ate, he opened a bottle of wine and poured two glasses.
"Join me for a drink."

"Trying to get me drunk?"
Connor honestly nodded with a laugh.
He could never forget how enchanting and irresistible she looked slightly tipsy.
Camila sipped a little, then poured the rest of her glass into his.
