Chapter Ninty
Chapter Ninty
A frown surfaced on Rome's lips as he stared at his reflection in the bathroom mirror, and then he
splashed water on his face.
“How is she holding up?" Rome mumbled, squeezing his fists.
“Good morning!" K's voice echoed into the bathroom. "Boss, are you in here?”
Frowning, Rome pulled a fluffy white towel off the handle and wrapped it around his waist.
When he walked out of the bathroom a few seconds later, he saw K standing by his bedside.
“You were right, boss," K said, meeting Rome's weary eyes. "I monitored the CCTV the entire night and
found a total of five men that I assume to be Axel's guys."
Silence settled in the room as Rome rubbed his eyelids. Then he sniffed and asked, "How's Hazard,
Tan, Jon, and Damon doing?"
“As you ordered last night, Tan is in the hotel parking lot, and I have him watching two of the men.
Hazard is in the lobby keeping an eye on one of them, and Damon and Jon have the other two in sight,
outside the hotel." K hastily said.
"That's good. Have them remain posted and continue to inform you if there is any movement from
them." Rome said, gazing at his suit, laying on the mattress. "Whatever Axel wants, I will give it to him
for now."
A while later, Rome came downstairs, fully dressed, and walked into the lobby of the hotel with K.
Then he eyed Hazard dressed in the hotel security uniform and cap on his head before he and K
walked away.
When Rome and he got into the parking lot, they walked past Tan, also dressed in the hotel guard
uniform, and they headed for the black BMW.
After getting into the vehicle, K looked back at Rome and said, "That car hasn't moved after we arrived
yesterday, and I believe the two men in it are working for Axel."
"Good morning, boss." Mr. Orlando said, looking back. "What did I miss?"
"Nothing really, just that Axel has his men stationed around the hotel to monitor us, and the boss has
our guys watching them."
"Wait! What! How? I thought we weren't doing anything and following that evil bastard plan!"
"Yes, we are still not doing anything yet. But last night, the boss came up with this awesome idea to
have Tan, Hazard, Jon, and Damon dressed in guard uniforms to monitor Axel's men. So we can have
the upper hand just in case."
Frowning, Mr. Orlando started the car engine and mumbled, "And you said that it was nothing! That's a
whole loop I missed."
The quietness in the room was suddenly interrupted by his ringtone, and Axel reached for his phone on
the nightstand and answered the call.
“Boss, Rome Ford is on the move. Should we follow him?” A robust voice echoed into his ear.
"No. Right now, Rome is alert. I still need you to watch him at the hotel for a few days without raising
his suspicion. If he notices a car following him to work and back at the hotel, he will start to figure things
out." Axel said, sitting up straight in bed.
"But…"
"I will tell Foe to follow him. He is stationed a few distances away from the hotel." This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
"Okay, boss."
Suddenly, Axel got an incoming call, and he immediately answered it before saying, "Have you arrived
home yet?"
"Good morning to you too, brother." Amara's voice rang in his ear.
"Are you home!?"
"I got word that Catherine is missing, so I guess plan three is in motion… I hope you didn't harm her
though."
"My fight is with Mr. Ford. Why will I harm Catherine? She's innocent in all of this. Now, where are you?
When his sister didn't answer, rage spiked in Axel's eyes, and he shouted, "Amara, where are you right
now?!!"
"If you feel that way about Catherine, then why do you have to kill Rome! After you complete this stage,
isn't that enough punishment for Mr. Ford!" Amara's harsh voice echoed through his ear.
"Get out of the country today! I won't tell you again!"
"Axel!"
"Stop whining and do as your big brother says!"
"Half brother!"
A frown crossed Axel's face. Then he sighed and said, "Just because we weren't made from the same
womb that doesn't mean I don't care about you. Get out of the state today!"
As Catherine lay in the bed, the silence in the room caused her mind to recall memories about Rome,
and without realizing it, her cheeks were soaked with tears.
“I wonder if he had any sleep last night,” Catherine mumbled, hugging the pillow.
Losing control of her emotions, she pushed her face in the pillow and cried her heart out.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door and Catherine lifted her head.
Then she got out of bed and walked over to the door and opened it.
"I was ordered to bring you food,” A tall, built guy said with a cold expression.
Not saying a word, Catherine stepped aside and allowed him to roll the trolley inside.
"Where is your boss?" Catherine calmly asked.
"He's not here. But just because he's not, that doesn't mean you can act up. So eat your food and
behave if you don't want to get a beating!"
As emotions welled up inside of her, Catherine bit on her lip, fighting back tears. Then her face
suddenly grew cold as she stared at Richard entering her room.
"Look who slept like a princess. My imagination of you as a prisoner is nothing like this. It's infuriating
how fate seems to favor you in the worst situation possible." Richard said with a scowl on his face.
When the fellow saw him, he walked over to Richard, scowled at him, and whispered, "What are you
doing here!"
"This is the only place I know that your boss will be, and I'm here to demand that he speak to me face
to face! I'm sick of waiting in a hotel room and communicating with him through text!" Richard firmly
mumbled.
'I knew we should have ditched this ass yesterday and not bring him here, along with us.' The fellow
thought, screwing his face into a frown
"My boss doesn't stay here. We are only using this place to hold your cousin captive. So You need to
leave before you ruin everything."
Glaring at Richard, anger hit Catherine's heart and she lashed out, “Get out, you despicable traitor!”
In a fit of rage, Richard stepped past the man marched to Catherine, and folded his fingers, swinging
his fist at her. But the fellow suddenly grabbed his wrist before his punch could land on her face.
Then he glared at Richard and said, "My boss gave a direct order for not a string of her hair on her
head to get harm, so back off before you piss me off."
Frustrated, Richard pulled his hand out of the guy's grip and bitterly uttered, "When is your boss going
to get here! If he doesn't come to talk me face to face, I am not leaving here!"
"My boss is a man who takes orders from no one, so how about you leave or I will make you leave!"
The fellow coldly uttered, giving him a death stare.
Sighing heavily, Richard threw Catherine a dirty look and then stormed out of the room.
When he reached into the hallway, he pulled out his phone and then texted, "When are you going to
keep your end of the deal! I have played my part!"
It took a moment. Then Richard received a message, "Soon. Once I take away Rome's superiority, I
can easily have you and your father with your brother out of this state in a flash."
The car was silent as Rome laid back against the seat, squeezing his eyelids shut, and then mumbled,
"She's fine. She has to be."
At that moment, the vibration of his phone forced him to open his eyes, and then he accepted the call,
resting the phone against his ear.
"We have tracked and pinpointed Richard's current cell location, and we know exactly where he is."
Blaze's voice echoed into Rome's ear, and his face hardened into a frown.
"Capture that sap. My fist has a few things to say to his face!" Rome coldly uttered.
